Cassandra, appreciate you joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Undoubtedly, a pivotal moment that altered the course of my professional journey occurred in my late twenties. At that time, I found myself entrenched in a cycle of unhealthy dietary habits, consumed by an insatiable craving for sugar. My daily routine included indulging in excessive amounts of sugary treats, from multiple Krispy Kreme donuts to copious amounts of sugary beverages and snacks. Unbeknownst to me, this habit was wreaking havoc on my physical well-being, manifesting in various ailments such as brain fog, chronic fatigue, and recurrent yeast infections.
It wasn’t until a friend recommended I consult with an Integrative physician that I began to grasp the extent of the damage my dietary choices were causing. Despite being a registered nurse, the concept of integrative medicine was foreign to me. However, my appointment with the physician proved to be transformative. She delved beyond the surface, dedicating ample time to explore not only my physical health but also my mental and spiritual well-being.
Following her thorough assessment, which included a food allergy sensitivity test, a comprehensive thyroid panel, and other diagnostics, the root cause of my health issues became clear: an overgrowth of candida fueled by my excessive sugar intake. This revelation was a turning point. By adhering to the physician’s recommendations and implementing dietary changes to address the candida overgrowth, I experienced a remarkable transformation.
As the fog lifted from my mind and my energy levels stabilized, I became acutely aware of the profound impact food has on overall health. Inspired by my own journey to wellness, I felt a calling to empower others on their paths to health and vitality. This realization propelled me to pursue further education and training, ultimately leading me to obtain a master’s degree in adult mental health nursing, followed by a specialization in holistic nursing. Additionally, I embarked on a journey of continuous learning, acquiring expertise in nutrition, healthy eating practices, herbalism, and ultimately transitioning into a role as a holistic herbalist and a health and wellness coach.
In retrospect, that pivotal moment in my late twenties not only transformed my personal health but also ignited a passion for holistic wellness and inspired a career dedicated to supporting others on their journeys to optimal well-being.

Cassandra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m on a mission to revolutionize the healthcare landscape, transitioning it from a system focused solely on treating illness to one that prioritizes holistic health and wellness. My journey into this transformative field began after a personal encounter with the Superwoman Syndrome, a phenomenon that forced me to reassess every aspect of my life – from my health, my career and my relationships.
Out of this profound experience emerged my passion and dedication to empowering individuals to advocate for their own well-being and embrace lifestyle changes that foster holistic wellness. Drawing from my background as a holistic nurse, psychotherapist, herbalist, and health and wellness coach, I’ve developed an innovative 8-part holistic system tailored to support busy professionals, particularly Real-Life Superwomen, in reclaiming their lives from overwhelm and stress.
My services encompass a range of personalized offerings, including one-on-one coaching, group coaching sessions, and herbal consultations, all designed to cater to the unique needs of busy professional women. Additionally, I facilitate seasonal group detox programs and offer specialized programs such as “Release the Sugar Blues,” aimed at addressing common health challenges prevalent in today’s fast-paced world.
What sets me apart from others in the field is my unwavering commitment to getting to the root of my clients’ health issues and guiding them towards sustainable solutions. I take pride in the countless individuals – both women and men – whom I’ve supported in overcoming barriers to optimal health and vitality. Witnessing their transformation and newfound energy brings me immense joy and reinforces my belief in the power of holistic wellness.
Ultimately, I want potential clients to know that my approach goes beyond mere symptom management; it’s about fostering a deep sense of empowerment and equipping individuals with the tools they need to thrive in every aspect of their lives. Whether you’re seeking to break free from overwhelm and stress or embark on a journey towards greater health and happiness, I’m here to support you every step of the way..

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
In addition to training and knowledge, I’ve found that incorporating daily meditation and spiritual practices has been invaluable in my field. Prior to meeting with clients, I make it a habit to connect with a higher power and offer a prayer for guidance, asking that spirit work through me to support my clients’ highest good. This spiritual foundation not only centers me but also opens me up to receive what I call “intuitive hits” during client sessions.
These intuitive insights, often prompted by my spiritual practice, have proven to be instrumental in my clients’ wellness journeys. Many have remarked on the profound impact of the guidance I’ve provided, noting that it has aligned perfectly with their needs at the time. This ability to tap into intuition and offer guidance beyond conventional knowledge has undoubtedly enhanced my effectiveness in supporting clients’ holistic well-being.
In essence, while training and expertise are crucial in my field, nurturing a spiritual connection and cultivating intuition are equally essential for success. These practices not only enrich my work but also deepen the level of support I can offer to my clients.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that constant doing equated to productivity and success, while simply being or resting was laziness. This mindset was deeply ingrained due to my natural inclination as an achiever, a trait highlighted in my Gallup strengths. For years, I operated under the assumption that the more tasks I completed, the more successful I would be, often pushing myself to the point of exhaustion to juggle numerous responsibilities simultaneously.
The turning point came during my post-master’s program in Holistic Nursing when I was required to select a holistic modality to study and practice. Despite my initial resistance, I chose meditation as I recognized it would challenge my predisposition towards constant action. As I began incorporating meditation into my daily routine, I gradually discovered the profound power of simply being present.
Through meditation, I learned to quiet my mind, focus on my breath, and embrace moments of stillness. In doing so, I experienced a remarkable shift in my mindset and behavior. I became less reactive, particularly in my interactions with my husband, and noticed a significant reduction in physical tension. Moreover, I found myself making decisions with greater clarity and intentionality.
This newfound appreciation for the power of just being allowed me to reassess my approach to productivity and achievement. While I still value accomplishment, I now prioritize activities that align with my values and bring genuine fulfillment. By incorporating moments of rest and reflection into my routine, I’ve cultivated a healthier balance between action and stillness, ultimately leading to greater overall well-being.
