We recently connected with CASSANDRA GAMBLIN and have shared our conversation below.
CASSANDRA, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
Teach me to be independent, taught me self worth, I can do whatever I set my mind to do, show pride in myself, my work ethics, work hard nothing id given to you, love yourself first, be respectful, speak up
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My Mary Kay Journey: More Than Skincare, It’s a Way of Life
Fourteen years ago, I joined Mary Kay simply for the 50% discount. I had no idea that decision would change my life. As I began attending workshops and conferences, my eyes opened to the true vision of Mary Kay — not just beauty products, but a platform for personal growth, financial empowerment, and community.
Mary Kay has taught me to be independent, to understand my self-worth, and to believe that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. It instilled in me a sense of pride in myself and my work ethic. I’ve learned that nothing is given — you earn it. I’ve learned to love myself first, to be respectful, and to speak up with confidence.
Originally from California, I moved to Texas 18 years ago to be closer to my sister, nieces, and nephews — my pride and joy. Family means everything to me. So does travel. I love experiencing the beautiful world that God created, beyond the borders of Texas.
What I cherish most about my Mary Kay journey is the relationships I’ve built. With my clients, it’s more than makeup — we do life together. We celebrate birthdays, victories, and even support one another through difficult times. Through pampering sessions I call “Beauty Experiences,” I bring joy, laughter, and confidence to my clients, helping them feel seen, valued, and beautiful.
Mary Kay has helped me grow as a leader and connect with people from all walks of life. I love the woman I’m becoming — stronger, bolder, and more purpose-driven.
When COVID changed everything, we pivoted. The kitchen table gatherings stopped, but our mission didn’t. We embraced Zoom, Facebook Messenger, and other platforms to keep our connections alive and our business thriving.
Now, I share my passion with intention. Every smile is an invitation. Every conversation is an opportunity. Whether it’s handing out a sample or simply telling my story, I know that what I offer goes far beyond products — it’s empowerment, connection, and purpose.
Mary Kay isn’t just a business — it’s a lifestyle, a ministry of confidence, and a journey of growth. And I’m just getting started.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Covid taught me to pivot because sitting around the kitchen table came to stop. We were confined to our homes. No contact. We had to pivot to holding class on Zoom, Facebook messenger Social platforms allowed us to reach people while quarantined.
Work full circle book, coach, sell and recruit
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Meet the people, share your passion, tell everyone about your goals and dreams. Having a conversation with people you meet. When someone smiles at you that’s the invitation to share who you are and what you do if it’s just handing them a card or sample. There are opportunities all around to share your business and you must be intentional
