We recently connected with Cassandra Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Cassandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Usually at the end of every year, I gift something special for my clients just to say thank you for booking and allowing me the opportunity to capture their special occasion or event. I love photography and the fact that my clients, most of who are repeat clients, choose to do business with me, makes me very appreciative of them.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a photographer located in the metro Atlanta area. I specialize in headshot, portrait, and event photography.
I have always enjoyed taking photos, but it wasn’t until I had children when I became more serious about it. I took their photos all the time, but I decided to try it with others and I fell in love.
I enjoy photographing small business owners while assisting them as they get started showcasing their brand.
I believe what sets me apart from other photographers is that I am flexible, I incorporate what my clients wish to see, and I make it easy for them to make decisions about their wishes. My job as their photographer is to give them an experience that feels wonderful for them with no stress, and some beautiful images that they can showcase.
Each year, I invest in my business by adding to product inventory and/or participating in a workshop or class, and also ensuring that I reach at least one more person than the year before.
So, if you need headshots for your social media, or photos of an event you want to put on, or family photos for the holidays, please contact me, I’d love to be your photographer.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
So, this is something that I am currently working on, still today. It can sometimes fall by the wayside, especially if you are busy with another job or taking care of family. I work to be intentional about posting on social media. I used to be critical with what I post, but now I have gotten to the point where I just post my work, no matter how old or new it is, so I can show people what I do. Who knows, I may get a consistent follower that turns into a lead. As a creative and small business owner, JUST POST! The more you post, the more people will see, and the more potential that you will grow your following.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I would say that my clients start out as clients, but almost always turn out to be more like extended family. I really enjoy that part of my business. I am an open book and am very relatable. So, if they have a hard time opening up, I share some of my personal experiences and some of the work that I’ve done with my close family, and that puts them at ease. Also, I get most of my clients by word-of-mouth, and most are also repeat clients.
