We recently connected with Cashe Honorable and have shared our conversation below.
Cashe, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Self love is not a trend, it is a lifestyle. Even though I feel that way, there are millions who look in the mirror and are truly unhappy with what they see. To a lot of people it is very hard to smile. Mental health is a crisis that is reeking havoc around us. People are suffering internally. I want to lift people up. You are gorgeous and special. You are one of a kind and you just being different and unique and raw is what makes you a Gem. People are struggling everyday to just accept what they see looking back at them. People are stressed, and tired, and worn down. It is okay to disconnect and take a break sometimes. You are one person and you are enough! We all struggle with this concept. I struggle with this concept. Why do we feel that we are never enough? Sometimes we need to be reminded.
The #MeDayMovement. I created this movement for that person who is overworked, stressed, tired. Also, that person that just needs that reminder of how special they really are. You are phenomenal. That person who is a superhero and a superstar in their own right or just needs help adjusting their crown. I wanted to create a movement to inspire and uplift them because they need a break too and encouragement. I want to create a safe space where that person, even just for a moment, can just stop the noise around them and just let go and breathe. That super parent, that working boss, that student, that person working to make their dreams come true, that person just trying to survive. My brand, my movement, is for that person because frankly I am also that person. I am that tunnel vision perfectionist that has to be reminded to slow down and take a break. I am that person who needs to be reminded that I am enough. So, to that person, who also needs to be reminded, it is okay to stop moving for a second and to be selfish for a few heartbeats to just think about yourself. It is okay to unwind and relax. You are worth it. You are enough. You are a Gem.

Cashe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The idea for my brand came in a dream. At the time I was doing fashion design and creating new designs for a upcoming fashion show. In my dream I was headlining my own fashion show and I had created a lifestyle brand. The brand consisted of very fun and relaxing everyday where, lingerie, and sleep wear. At this fashion show I gave my guest swag bags which consisted of bath and body products, such as bath bombs and other items. After this dream I was really excited about this concept of mixing fashion and bath and body and creating a lifestyle brand of my own. This dream happened years ago so it is really exciting to see me work towards this vision.
Currently I personally handmake all of my products. My line-up consists of bath bombs, shower steamers, and foaming sugar scrubs. In May I will be launching a line of body lotions. I am hoping to expand my product line-up with more bath and body products, such as, shower lotion, bubble bars, salt baths, ect. Aside from bath and body, I have plans to launch a fashion line with my own designs for sleep and comfort wear in the future.
There are a lot of bath and body products in the market. I really look up to Lush and Nectar and this Canadian based soap company called Quench. When I started my company I had no experience in making bath products but I was very determine to master this craft. Youtube University is an amazing source and offers a vast amount of information from so many creators. From there I was able to learn the basics of being a “soaper” and then expand that concept to match my own brand image.
My brand’s tag line is Handmade Vegan Natural. All of my products are handmade, 100% vegan, with natural ingredients. My brand imagine of being a Gem is to support mental health and uplift people, so to have natural and clean ingredients is very important. I love the coconut milk that is in my bath bombs. It just adds to the moisture and leaves the skin extremely smooth and soft. I am still working towards finding my lane in this industry. My products are not phenomenal confections like Nectar but I strive to create a brand that is just as nationally recognized. I want my products to leave a long lasting impression on my fans and followers. That wow factor. That once they try it their entire outlook on self care just elevates. When they think about relaxing and self care they think of my brand.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I heard this saying; “There are 24 hours in a day and 168 hours in a week. Your full time job consists of approximately 40 hours in a week. What are you doing with the remaining 128 hours?” This saying really gets me out of bed and gives me the extra determination when I would rather lay down and do nothing. Currently I have a full time job. When I started getting serious about my business I had a full time job and a part time job. Eventually I was able to quit my part time job to focus more time on my brand. At that time my full time job was funding my business. Now that my business is producing income my business can now support itself. All of the money that I make from my business goes back into my business. I am starting to apply for grants to gain additional capital to scale my business.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Personally, I am used to learning new things effortlessly so when I decided that I would make my own bath products versus outsourcing them I figured it would be a piece of cake. Long story short, the first time I made bath bombs I was surprised at how difficult it was. I actually cried because I was so frustrated and felt very defeated. After this I was really nervous about making any bath bombs and I didnt make anything for a few months. I had to strum up the courage to try again. The next time I made bath bombs I studied and took my time. This process really humbled me. I am so used to just getting this right the 1st time. With making bath bombs I had to put in a ton of effort and be patient. I took this process one day at a time. I studied and worked hard and eventually I was skilled enough to make my imagination come true.
