We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cash Gotti a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Cash thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time I would’ve started my company years earlier . Growing up I didn’t see entrepreneurs or business savvy people , it was more so get an education and secure a career , real by the book . I didn’t create the idea until 2014. If I started sooner the pros would be me gaining more experience and possibly being further ahead , but it’s also the possibility of me quitting . I don’t regret starting when I did because I didn’t my homework , I put in my 10,000 hours . When I started my company it was during a total renaissance period in my life I loved from jersey to ATL. I left everything and everyone behind . It was then I knew how I wanted to leave my imprint on the word .

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well my name is Cash Gotti , owner and creator of “1200 Seconds “ which is an umbrella company , a media outlet where we officer music, fashion, and journalism . I’ve done interviews for artist and actors , I’ve released music and I have written for others . Right now I’m doing some writing for an up & coming BET show . I can’t say much about it . I chose to offer so many services because I’m equally good at them all and I know I’ll always be in demand because of it . I guess the pandemic taught us we have to be able to switch hats at any moment
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
More than anything books . If I can name a few “New ideas from dead CEOs”
“Hustler Harder Hustle Smarter”
“How to talk to anyone”
These books have helped me tremendously not just in business but in everyday life . I’m naturally anti social so these books offer suggestions on how to get out your own way and seize the moment

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
It’s no one definitive way to grow your clientele but some that I applied and have learned to be efficient are
Staying active on social media – respond to dm’s , respond to comments . These are real people who are reaching out to you for a certain reason , learn what it is and use it as a bond .
Do market research – see what your demographic is , see where most of your sales are coming from . This way you can expand, travel and maybe do some pop ups in these cities . Get out there
Stay in the know – study the competition , one question they always ask on Shark Tank is “who else is in this line of work “ “who is offering this service or product “
