We recently connected with Casey Nwachukwu and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Casey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
To be honest with you, I started my motivational platform at the right time. I am a firm believer that blessings hit you at the most efficient time, and being on this journey has been nothing short of a blessing.
Casey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
– This motivational journey started back in high school. Whenever someone either needed advice, a smile, or a spark of confidence, I was the person to go to. There was a particular moment my junior year that really sparked interest in motivating others. During English 3 class, there was a project that included creating a unique quote. After presenting this quote to the class, my classmates surprisingly gave me a round of applause. This reaction ultimately inspired me to brainstorm many motivational quotes.
– Three years later, this growing confidence in high school led to frequently posting inspirational sayings on Snapchat. As someone who loved being in front of a camera as well as having friends/loved ones telling me to start a channel, quotes slowly transitioned into videos. In March 2018, the #CaseysMotivationMondays platform was established.
– What I am most proud of when it comes to this motivational platform is the confidence that has been building within myself. Back in high school, when this journey originally started, I was a pretty shy guy. As time has gone by and producing content slowly became the norm, I started to settle into who I truly am. That is what we all should strive for—to be our most authentic selves.
– What I want both current and potential viewers to know about me is that I talk about several topics on #CaseysMotivationMondays. Topics such as unlocking gifts within yourself, not comparing yourself to others, disabilities, and self-confidence have been discussed on this platform.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
– In terms of a mission, the mission statement for #CaseysMotivationMondays is “small change is way better than no change”. This is one of the many quotes that have been created over the years. This saying inspires me to keep on going. It does not matter what size of a jump you make in your progress; as long as you are moving up, that is all that matters. Being someone who is hard on themselves, keeping this quote in mind allows me to be calm.
– A goal for this motivational platform is to continuously inspire others to appreciate the gifts that they unlock within themselves. My definition of a gift is a “quality that not everyone has, and as a result, makes you unique”. Unlocking gifts within yourself can spark greatness in another person.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a motivational speaker is the love that people show. Going back to my time at the University of Houston, where the platform initially took off, people would mimic my intro, “What’s up, what’s up y’all! It’s ya boy Casey”! Furthermore, people would either send me messages or directly tell me how much my quote “small change is way better than no change” gives them a boost of energy to persevere. I am nothing without the people who support my platform; forever will be grateful for the love!
