We recently connected with Casey Morris and have shared our conversation below.
Casey, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
I was approached by a business owner for social media advertising. Her Facebook and Instagram pages were fairly new and with low follower counts, as she had only been in business for about 10 months at this point.
I spent the next several months testing and implementing new advertising strategies. I also coached the client remotely on social media strategy and content creation.
The owner’s goal was to increase sales, but because we were advertising on the Meta platform, I knew increasing social media following and engagement would bolster her sales campaign. Within a few months, her social media following grew by 900%.
The strategy paid off, and the client’s ROI started climbing rapidly. In less than a year of advertising, the owner received a 461% ROI in one month. She was able to leave her part-time job to focus on the business full-time.
It is always my goal for a client to have a positive ROI, and nothing makes me happier than seeing results like this.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I graduated from Auburn University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and a double major in Radio/TV/Film and Spanish. It was my dream to work in television in Atlanta. But the Great Recession hit right around the time I graduated and moved to the city in 2008.
To navigate the changing job market, I took inventory of all of my skills in the hopes of finding a new career path. It was then that I discovered digital marketing.
I spent 10 years in the corporate world working for several Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Atlanta. Over a decade, I honed a wide variety of digital marketing skills and earned a proven track record of success in advertising, social media, and website traffic.
Undoubtedly, I learned a lot from working in large corporations, but they just weren’t the right fit for me. I wanted to be able to use all of my various learned skills simultaneously. But what’s more—I truly wanted to help people.
At the beginning of 2020, I left my last corporate job and took a professional sabbatical. In just three months, I earned certifications in Meta Advertising, Hootsuite Marketing, and Google Analytics. I was considering making a switch to the agency world when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
As luck would have it, I landed my first freelance client just a few weeks later in April 2020. And in June 2022, I opened See Worthy Consulting.
My niche market is small business owners. I believe that every business deserves professional marketing help at a rate that fits their budget. I help them narrow down the products and services that will give them the biggest bang for their buck and allow them to grow.
I offer a wide variety of marketing services including digital advertising, social media management, website design, video production, and more. I also provide coaching and offer consultations for the DIY business owner.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I worked with my first client for four years. A new owner purchased the company at the end of 2022 and immediately increased our engagement. It became almost a full-time job, though I still had my smaller digital advertising clients and completed one-off projects like website designs for business owners
Earlier this year, however, the owner decided to cut the marketing budget drastically. I had put all of my eggs in one basket instead of diversifying. I was suddenly forced to go out and find a lot of new business.
I went straight to my network to share the news and ask for referrals. I also started marketing my business more— something I had put off because there wasn’t an immediate need for it before.
The referrals started trickling in. I also started receiving organic leads. Each person I worked with was another opportunity for networking and spreading word of mouth. Each 5-star review helped add to my credibility.
I’m now at the point where I’m receiving steady leads. Previous clients have asked for more work, too. I’m finally where I should have been all along: more clients with smaller contracts. It’s easier to replace a smaller client than a whale!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A long time ago, in the corporate world, I learned that there is truly no such thing as job security. I could be in a position and deliver stellar results, but there are always factors at play that we are not privy to. Layoffs happen, and often they have nothing to do with your job performance.
For a considerable period of my professional life, I was afraid to start my own business. I was worried about job security. Then I reminded myself that it was no different than working full-time in a business. Clients will come and go, but the fact remains that I have extremely marketable skills and the confidence to know I can deliver results when given the chance.
And when you are self-employed, you have more job security than working for a business. You decide the types of contracts you want to take and the clients you choose to engage with. And even if the job market is tough, it is much easier to find businesses that are willing to work with you on a smaller scale versus offering you a full-time job.
It was an interesting lesson to learn.
