We were lucky to catch up with Casey Mallon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Casey, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Life is always about making choices and sacrifices. Like leaving a job to try and create something you love to do and are passionate about. While foregoing financial security can be scary, you will never regret going for it. It may sound cliche, but it’s very true that you will regret the things you didn’t do more than risks that you did take.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After receiving my BA in Radio Television and Film, I’ve worked in the entertainment business and television world ever since. The last few years my focus has been in the sports world, more specifically football and the NFL. We’ve created a weekly podcast “The Trendzone” that has a global audience and is continuing to grow.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
By continuing to put out content on a regular basis. Letting the audience know when new content is produced and available as well as interacting on social media with followers as much as possible. Always trying to find new ways to have your audience participate in your content.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my partner Dave Hewitt several years ago when we were both performing in bands on the Los Angeles music scene. We soon discovered we both had a love for music and a passion for sports.
