We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Casey Lesieur. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Casey below.
Casey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
When I was in high school, I was on track to compete division 1 in gymnastics. At age 15, I competed with an injury which I later found out was a broken wrist, leading to a dead bone in my wrist. This completely changed my path. The doctors said I would never be able to do gymnastics again and my wrist would never be able to bend fully. Instead of quitting, I did not take no for an answer and started working harder than I ever did before. I relearned all of my gymnastics skills on beam and floor with one hand. I later competed in senior nationals and placed second. After that, I learned how to use my knuckles on vault and keep my wrist straight (for the most part) on bars. This perseverance has followed with me in every aspect of my life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a personal trainer at ProLean Training and real estate agent at Keller Williams. I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset. I competed in gymnastics at Syracuse University and earned my BFA in Environmental Interior Design. I was a Boston Celtics cheerleader and did some stunting gigs for the yellow Power Ranger 2013-2017. I became a certified personal trainer in 2015. I earned my masters degree in Exercise Science, Human Performance, Health & Wellness from Liberty University in 2021. I became licensed in real estate in 2021. I always like to keep busy and love helping others. I competed in adult gymnastics, after a ten year break from the sport, and was on Team USA for the Masters World Cup 2024, helping lead the team to victory!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is knowing that every single person is different. I find different solutions for each person based on their previous injury or limited mobility. I am always learning no matter how many years of experience I have because of how fast the industry changes. There is always another way for something to be done if one technique doesn’t work out. I love learning new techniques in body mechanics to help my clients move better. They say my strategies are like magic!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have faced many obstacles in my life. A more recent obstacle was about a year and a half ago. I was coaching my gymnastics team at nationals and had a night off. On my night off, I went to an open gym, where I could train my skills in adult gymnastics. I wasn’t doing anything new, just some drills to keep my body in shape that I have done a million times. When tumbling, my foot landed on the edge of the floor and dipped down onto the wooden under layer before landing on top of my mat stack. It felt like I pulled my calf muscle. I drove myself to the ER and found out I tore my achilles tendon. I was devastated. After surgery and 5 months of physical therapy, I still could not single leg calf raise. In fact, to this day I still cannot. My physical therapist told me there was nothing more they could do for me so I felt like I failed out of PT. I started training more in the gym and getting back into gymnastics. I was able to jump and run as well as tumble, but not calf raise. I began competing again, at a lower level, and kept working hard. I never gave up. In June 2024, I made Team USA for the Masters World Cup and we won! That was the spark I needed to keep going. Since then, I have been training extremely hard and helping my clients overcome their own personal obstacles. If there is a will, there is a way. It might not be how you imagined it, but you can adjust to anything if you work hard enough and never give up!
