We were lucky to catch up with Casey Cady recently and have shared our conversation below.
Casey, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
In the spiritual space often times practitioners feel a sense of guilt for charging their worth due to a perceived notion that this type of work is to be of service only. As a professional in this space I struggle with providing affordable and budget friendly services, while also needing to support my family. With the constant increase of everyday costs there is a very real need to charge my worth. As the cost of living rises, it has been challenging to keep my rates down. While being an healer and devoting my life to serving others, I can not de value my expertise and knowledge by denying myself financial security. We pay healers such as doctors, therapist, etc without blinking an eye, but when it comes to the spiritual healing and work folks would rather pay less for a sub par session.
Casey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always been drawn to the spirit world and have memories of divine encounters as early as 4 years old. In my early life I was denied the freedom to explore these abilities due to my families personal beliefs. Despite their efforts, I continued to feel called to explore the world of spirituality, renounce organized religion and began to accept and understand my connection to the esoteric, angels, the dead, and spirits.
During the early months of the Covid lockdown, I felt incredibly unfulfilled with my 9-5 marketing career, and decided to take a chance on myself. I quit my job, created a business Instagram account and created Astral Tides Co.
As a natural born intuitive who has dedicated over a decade of my life to cultivating and fine tuning my abilities. I believe we are truly never finished learning and am always exploring ways to expand and absorb as much knowledge as possible when it comes to the spiritual world. A session with me is unlike a traditional card reading session. I use a combination of tarot/oracle cards, crystals, pendulum work, and all of my Clair abilities as tools to deliver messages from your passed loved ones, angels, and spirit team to help guide you through the session. I make sure to go above and beyond to ensure you leave your session feeling confident, assured, and with more clarity than before. My goal is to not only help you in the moment but to provide you with the tools to tune into your own intuition and keep in touch with your own spiritual team. My belief is quality over quantity, and to build strong foundations for long lasting client interactions.
Additionally, I am a certified crystal healer, and obtained my certification from Evolve Healing Institute – a fully accredited institution that is recognized in 39 countries.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by being authentic and not following the “rules” that other readers/healers were at the time. I posted every day, even when it felt hopeless. I offered free card pulls to build trust with my followers which resulted in booking clients, and generating an income. My advice to anyone starting out on a social media platform as their main source of exposure is to post and add value. Get on IG stories or TikTok and tell your story. Be relatable, and speak your truth. Share stories about your life and how your particular niche benefited you. Don’t be discouraged by low like count, followers or number of views. I have learned that these things are not synonymous with success or getting clients booked, and rebooked. If you are passionate and want your idea to work, keep doing your thing. Another aspect that I had not anticipated is the issue of trolls, negativity, and cruel comments. You can not react to these type of things publicly or take it personally. If you’re putting yourself out there, you have to have thick skin. It took quite a few years for this to really sink in for me, but now I don’t bat an eye when I experience negative comments from non followers or clients.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Instagram and TikTok are excellent avenues for visibility, specifically in my line of work due to the ability to provide video content highlighting my skill set and knowledge. I am able to provide free content, with value, that also highlights what it is that I offer. This creates trust, and has spread my reach globally. Client referrals are also an incredible source for new client interactions. Recently, I have expanded my reach by providing my services at local events, private gatherings, and metaphysical shops.
