We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Casey Belitz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Casey below.
Casey, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Something that our brand The Watering Haul does really well is goes above and beyond. Ever since I was a student-athlete in high school and college I have always strived to be the best every single day. This mindset is something I have carried over into entrepreneurship and something I use in my daily life as a wife and mom as well. No matter what task I am doing, I always give my best. I love challenging myself and being creative as well. Even after my first conversation with clients, they know they will get our best, NO MATTER WHAT! I believe our brand’s success comes from wanting to be the best every day and with every task thrown at us. We go above and beyond because GET TO! This mindset of being the best has helped my husband and I create a very special brand that is known for its top notch service.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are in the beverage catering industry and mostly service weddings, corporate events, and private parties. We have 3 satellite bars, 2 trailer bars, plus offer bartending service all over Southern California. Our team not only goes above and beyond to ensure your event goes off without a hitch (pun intended) but also our team is filled with incredible bartenders, baristas, event planners, marketers, customer service representatives, and entrepreneurs. We take so much pride in serving our clients and elevating every event we are at!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is tough one but I’m so interested in it because it’s a challenge. It’s an ever-changing variable along with technology. It’s something you can do really well one day and then horribly the next. It’s also the place where you can try new things and not have a cost associated with it. The fact that it’s free is also a huge advantage for everyone. It’s so different from starting a business years ago because it gives all of us a platform that we would never get back in the day. So my advice would be to try things and show who your brand is by showing the people behind it. People want to know who you are and hear your story.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When we started this business we had ZERO bartending experience. I repeat, ZERO experience! We had a cool trailer and a business mindset. We had a concept but then quickly realized how much bigger this business could be when we really got into it. Our customers helped guide our vision. We were profitable after year two because our start up costs were so low. By year three we were losing business because we only had one product and knew we needed to expand our offerings in order to grow. Flash forward to year five where we have multiple bars and offer bartenders, bar-backs, and servers for events of all sizes.
