We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Casandra Pastrana a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Casandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I am extremely happy as a business owner! I get to wake up every morning and do what I love. That does not mean it is easy. Having your own business means everything lands on you from booking clients, coming up with workouts, processing payments, advertising your services in a creative way and finding clientele that stands for what I’ve built which is women empowering other women!
You do not get to clock out and ignore messages. You have to work everyday to build what you have and maintain it! I’ve always thought business owners need to stay humble, your clients are what make you and your business….word of mouth is everything! The way you make a client feels they remember and either love you or go and tell someone not to use you or your business so always stay humble!
I think from time to time what it would be like to work at 9 am to 5 pm again BUT, then I think about working to make someone else’s dream come true and that does not cut it for me I love a challenge and I love to see my business expending!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Casandra Pastrana. I am the owner of Curves By Casandra
My main focus is training women to be the best versions of themselves in and out of the gym!
I have clients now making 3 years with me as their trainer. I love each of my ladies for trusting me on their fitness journey and being apart of their growth as women.
I have done personal training, cooking personalized meals for my clients, making a clothing brand and expanding to an online program.
My expansion took time and patience, trial and error. I look back and it makes me so happy and fulfilled to see everything I’ve built and the community of women I have around me!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I used to work at a law firm for 5 years. I loved what I did and still love that side of me. It did not fulfill me though I got to the point that I dreaded going into work and that’s not what life is about. You don’t need to hate your job and life is too short to be miserable so, I took a risk and started personal training part time and became full time when I felt like o was ready to take the leap. It was the best decision I have ever made and have never been happier.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media has been my Light at the end of the tunnel. I advertise my availability on my story’s and page, meet new clients on there and I am able to interact with women on a daily basis wanting to change their life style!
I made my brand and made sure my page reflected who I was and what I wanted to offer to women!
