Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Casa De Reyes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Casa De Reyes, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
Currently, as the owners of Casa De Reyes tequila we manage our own social media, and it’s not easy. Every post is a risk and requires being creative and unique. Some of our post get a lot of eyes and feedback and others, not so much. Further, editing content and posting can sometimes be time consuming for amateurs like ourselves that aren’t familiar with all of the nuance algorithmic standards and creative tools available on each platform.
Social media is the driving force and one of the competitive edges we are using to grow our brand. In fact, we plan to use social media and digital platforms over physical platforms as a way to advertise and market our brand. The reason is because social media allows for limitless creativity at a fraction of the cost but with more eyes on the product. The goal is to use social media to display a lifestyle attached to the brand and drive customers to purchase our product not just because the quality is great, but to fill their need for inclusivity.
Ultimately, we would like to hire first one person, and then expand to a team of content creators and posters to drive more attention and interaction with our social media platforms. Currently, with our own efforts in Q1 of 2023 we have grown our following on instagram from 1000 to 1500 organic followers. With a skilled social media partner, we will be sure to have accelerated growth and interaction.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Casa De Reyes is a premium tequila brand focused on establishing itself as a disruptive lifestyle brand that encourages everyone to be bold, self- confident, and view themselves as Kings and Queens! Casa De Reyes translates into “House of Kings”, and embodies the spirit of young royals through premium tequila and its rich Mexican heritage; all while delivering a tequila that provides drinkers a royal “experience” they will not forget. Tequila is a fast growing spirits profile that continues to lack strong minority ownership and presence in the industry. Casa De Reyes wants to not only be another minority owned spirit but a premium and modern brand that has not been seriously explored by other non-celebrity minority owners. The biggest accomplishment thus far for this brand is continuing to try and build a customer base despite the overwhelming number of industry roadblocks and the influx of new tequilas in the market. The next proudest moment was obtaining distribution in the Texas market opening doors for marketing, promotion and getting liquid to lips for our eager customers.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Thus far our best source of new clients has been word of mouth. Despite a large number of social media efforts, which has helped grow our following and increase brand awareness, word of mouth and networking has helped get us in progressive rooms and obtain digital sales.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building a social media audience is paramount for the success of any business hoping to gain national recognition. Building our social media audience started with asking our friends and family to follow our page. Then, we had to get creative by looking for trending reels and posts that we could recreate with our brand spin on it. Of course, financial investments by boosting posts and ads helped as well. Most importantly, we learned from and continue to learn what works and what doesn’t. The funny thing about social media is sometimes you post something with the most confidence it’s going to be a hit and it ends up underperforming. But then there’s times where you post things you think won’t be that impactful and it ends up out performing substantially. Advice for anyone starting to build their social media is to be persistent and consistent. The more frequently you post, even if they are not all 100%, the more you will get picked up in algorithms and the more people will interact with your brand.
