We recently connected with Carter Lofton and have shared our conversation below.

Carter, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?

Everything that I have learned from singing, up to modeling has come from YouTube. I have a teacher to help train my voice at this moment, but I am still in need for someone in modeling. When it comes down to modeling, I would say it all boils down to knowing your body. Singing is very similar except you must step out of your comfort zone more. To keep things simple and short, the most essential thing in these career paths is confidence. You need to have trust in yourself and confidence. It’s almost like you have to be a little out of your mind to chase your dreams, especially dreams like modeling and singing. The only thing that has diminished my growth rate is lacking a routine.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Alright to start things off I sing and model on Instagram. My modeling hasn’t grown very much at all, but I have participated in a modeling show. I would like to get into more things involving the modeling world, so please try to reach out with any offers. I got into modeling by just loving fashion, and that’s really all there is to it. At the heart I am a singer first. I got into music because of my family and always being surrounded by music. A big part to my music is wanting to help people or be the light for those who struggle seeing it. My YouTube, Carter Lofton, has the beats that I have created and my Instagram, carter.lofton, has even more fun adventures. A lot of people nowadays just want to become a music artist as a trend follower. For me music is far more personal. I may not be good at what I do right now, but someday I will go down in the same books as our current day legends. I am always looking for a way to improve or outshine myself. I am most proud in my determination to keep doing what I do. What I am looking for are business partners, collaborations via music or modeling, and teachers. Is there mission driving your creative journey?

There are many goals I have for this journey I am currently on. The main goal I have that inspires me to keep going in the hardest times, is to be the best that I can be.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding thing behind all of this is inspiring other people to be the best they can be as well. After all the none-stop practice, meditating, and praying I always find joy at the end of a performance or photoshoot.
