Hi Carsten & Leigh , thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

When we got married some things didn’t go according to plan. Or, should we say our experience was not as expected. We had decided on an all inclusive destination wedding option. Our package as it was presented to us included professional photography. Professional photographs of our once in a lifetime wedding day was definitely not what we received. As photographers we were more than disappointed and due to format and file size it’s remains impossible to fix the images. We are still not able to print a single photo of our wedding day. Needless to say, this emotional and disappointing experience gave us our mission. We provide the best possible experience by connecting with our couples making them comfortable being themselves in front of the camera, helping with their wedding planning, making their wedding day stress free and providing the best quality photos of their day that reflect their unique love and connection. Essentially, we provide more than just a wedding photography service and go beyond the customer service threshold in our business practice. Yes, this is the art of telling authentic love stories in pictures and it’s business. But really this business is all about people, relationships and their real love and lives together. We get the tremendous honor of telling their story as we get to know them along the way.

Carsten & Leigh , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We are a husband and wife wedding photography team. We are adventurous, espresso connoisseurs, in-tents campers, open water divers, world traveling, water babies, terrible anglers, stand-up comedy fanatics, road trippin’, paddlers, chef n’ cookie, experiences over things, stable dog and pony people that binge watch Netflix and have a passion for love, life, people and of course photography. We got into our niche of the photography industry after our wedding photos were botched royally. We were left not being able to print a single picture. This was a very disappointing experience to say the least. We could do better, so much better. So, the dream was born. When we started, the goal was to provide the best possible wedding photography. Very quickly our business would be much more than that. Our business has become so much more than just incredible photography. Visual Arts Wedding Photography is more than a wedding photography service it’s an experience. From hello to welcome back from the honeymoon we provide a stress free, fun, supportive, luxury experience to every couple. What do we want you to know about us? Our couples and their friends and family are our hero’s, we are honored to tell their authentic love stories in pictures and we provide heirloom quality photographs for a lifetime of cherished memories.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

The goal driving our creative vision for Visual Arts Wedding Photography is to provide the best wedding photography experience possible to our couples.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

We met on a dating app called Clover. Leigh had moved back to the United States from South Africa nine months earlier. She was planning on taking an assignment in Singapore for an extended period of time in few months. Carsten had paid close attention to all of the subtle details and invited Leigh on the perfect first date, a VW car meet. That first date was nine and a half hours long! Needless to say Leigh did not move to Singapore three months later, we got engaged, then married, finally opening our wedding photography business. It’s been an adventure of one opportunity leading to another bringing us to an incredible future we hadn’t seen in the beginning.
