We caught up with the brilliant and insightful CARSON FERRI-GRANT a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
CARSON , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
CARSON , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a USA Actor and Artist originally from New England, I moved to NYC in 1970, then to Los Angeles in 2019. I immerse myself in Southern California as a warm mammal returning to his grounds of origin. Actively creating theatrical roles in film, television, and theater in LA and internationally which are posted on IMDB.com; and painting five new abstract series (80 pieces) capturing the California vibes in my brush strokes, which are posted on Artsy.net. I savor these precious moments. Represented by FilmPens.com for my artwork, I have been fortunate to exhibit my paintings at the LA Art Show 2023, 2024 and the upcoming 2025 season.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My favorite Zen philosophy ‘Master your relationship with time’ is my personal mantra. Actualization vs Sedimentation divided by compressed Time equals My Life. (A vs S/T= ML)
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Early morning with my art tools and pad secured in a shoulder bag, I would walk my ‘Jack’ to the park to capture the dance of the newly Spring bouquets growing in the volunteer gardeners’ plots. Colors of tulips, aromas of lilies among an array of others. encouraged my way down the 91 St. hill entrance to Riverside Park promenade, NYC. My ‘Jack’ would patiently sit admired by passerby garden gazers while I would position myself with pad and watercolor pencils. Leaning on the iron protective fence I was entranced by the visual choreography of energy, the twists, and the turns of the buds all excited to reach sky height. Taking this personal time to create helped me self-heal and move past yesterday’s crisis. I encourage my reader to find a personal quiet place to center one’s energies.
