We were lucky to catch up with Carrie Boos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Carrie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
I believe that using a travel advisor is not mainly about getting the cheapest price, but it is about saving time, reducing stress, and having someone in your corner who knows how to navigate all of the options. Many people think that booking for themselves is always easier and more cost-effective. But, in my experience, the overwhelming number of choices, conflicting reviews, and constant policy changes can lead to frustration and confusion. What looks like a simple DIY process can become hours of research, second-guessing, and worrying you’ve picked the wrong thing.
I have seen how much relief clients feel when they hand over the details to someone instead of spending their time trying to figure out all of the details.
For me, this work is about being a trusted guide, not just a transaction. I am passionate about showing people that their time and peace of mind are worth investing in and that a well-planned trip can create memories that last a lifetime.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Carrie Boos, and I am the owner of WandUp Vacations. I help my clients plan stress-free trips without all of the stress and guesswork. I specialize in Disney vacations, cruises, Universal Studios, and all-inclusive resorts, but I also love crafting unique getaways that fit each client’s needs and budget.
I started WandUp Vacations because I always believed that planning travel should not feel overwhelming. There is so much information out there, endless blogs, reviews, and booking sites, and it can be hard to know what is the best choice. I wanted to create a service where people can feel confident, supported, and excited about their plans instead of stressed or second-guessing.
What sets me apart is the personal connection I build with every client. I take time to learn what matters most to them, from the little details that make a trip special to he practical considerations like time and budget. My services do not cost extra, and my priority is always to advocate for my clients and make sure their experience goes smoothly.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have put a lot of energy into building my social media presence, especially on Instagram, where I have grown my audience to over 2,000 followers. For me, I love using Canva to create branded graphics and share travel tips, and I make a point to show up regularly with content that feels personal and helpful.
Reels have been a big part of my growth. I share videos from my travels and give people a glimpse into what those experiences look like. I have found that when you share genuine excitement and practical information, it resonates more than just posting promotions.
My advice for anyone starting out is to be patient and consistent. You do not need to have everything perfect from day one. Focus on providing value, engaging with your audience, and showing your face from time to time so people can connect with you as a real person.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation has been built on a mix of personal service, consistency, and a genuine love for what I do. From the start, I wanted WandUp Vacations to feel approachable and trustworthy. Planning travel can be overwhelming for a lot of people, especially when it comes to Disney trips or Cruises with so many moving parts, and I have always made it a priority to be the person clients know they can count on.
Word of mouth has been a huge part of my growth. When someone has a great experience and feels taken care of, they naturally want to share that with friends and family. I am proud that many of my new clients come from referrals.
