We were lucky to catch up with Caroline Waterwall recently and have shared our conversation below.
Caroline, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
First, I think you need to define what success looks like for you. For some, it may be an income dollar amount. For others, success may be being able to purchase their ‘prize piece’ (ie buying a home or luxury vehicle in cash). Personally, these are great performance trackers. Growth needs to be measurable and there needs to be goals and deadlines to hit. For me, though, success is positively impacting my community and my client’s lives, being able to reach as many neighbors as possible and contributing to their lives so that they walk away better than when we began our relationship. ‘What it takes’? Show up! Show up every day. Show authentically. Show up on days you don’t want to show up. Grit paired with measurable transactional/financial goals makes a special sauce for success.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
In short, I am a Realtor in the Greater Austin Area with Compass RE as a member of the Schroeder and Co. Team! There are so many more layers to that statement. I am a Realtor, yes, but I am also a Mom, a wife, and a sister. I am a child advocate and a fitness enthusiast. All of these tie in together and are what make me the best agent possible for my clients.
Growing up in Houston and calling Austin my home for the past seven years has given me a deep appreciation for the vibrant real estate scene here. As an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and Real Estate Negotiation Expert, I am here to help you navigate the complexities of the market. With my years of experience in property management, I can offer you exceptional service and guidance, ensuring that you make the best decisions for your unique situation. More than just transactions, I believe that real estate is about building lasting relationships. I understand that buying or selling a home is a deeply personal decision, and I am here to make that process as memorable and enjoyable as possible. I am honored to be the agent my clients have entrusted and I am committed to providing them with a professional, trustworthy, and friendly service.
During my younger days, I was a competitive swimmer in the Sugar Land area where my love for health and fitness began. I started my career in the medical field and worked hard to become an expert in my field. I believe this career path gave me the bedside manners that leave my clients feeling heard. Later, I moved to North Dakota. This was when I discovered my passion for helping others and decided to open my home to foster children. During my four years in Minot, I worked closely with the Department of Social Services to provide a safe and loving environment for the children in my care. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience, and I hope to continue to make a positive impact in the lives of others through social work.
In 2016, I decided to move to Austin, Texas to be closer to my family. I quickly fell in love with the city and all that it has to offer. The vibrant atmosphere, the friendly people, and the active lifestyle complement my passions for real estate and health and fitness. I’m highly dedicated to my work, and when I’m not serving my clients, you can find me at the gym pursuing my bodybuilding career. I believe that living a healthy and active lifestyle is essential to success and happiness in all aspects of life.
My life experiences have been my greatest teacher, guiding me toward who I am today. They have molded my character and honed my skills to better serve my clients.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Accountability and scheduling! Schroeder & Co. keeps me accountable and gives me inspiration for new and interesting ways to engage with clients. We provide client appreciation events and engage in a ’36 touch’ program. This enables us to stay top of mind, show them extra love, and ultimately encourage more referrals. For example, Compass is hosting a Crawfish boil in the iconic Zilker park, here in Austin, for our clients. We are providing crawfish, beverages, yard games, face painting, etc! I am excited to provide this unique experience to my clients. In addition, for the month of April, we are sending our clients an “April” Showers” mailer. Included will be a packet of wildflower seeds as a token of our appreciation for everything they do for you and your business.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Referrals, referrals, referrals! The goal is to provide an authentically helpful service to my clients. The bonus would be my client talking about and ADVOCATING for me and my business. In today’s world, we are living in a review-based economy. Consumers are well-informed and have easy access to information. However, what really distinguishes you from others is the level of experience you provide to your clients. If you can guide your clients through a transaction in a way that makes them feel supported and heard, it’s highly likely that they will share their positive experiences with their friends and neighbors. That is what I am for. Providing each client with my best. The referrals will come!
