We were lucky to catch up with Caroline Nguyen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Caroline , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The story behind Posh & Posies was to curate a trendy affordable boutique women of all ages can feel beautiful & confident in.
Caroline , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a young wife & mother to be of my second child at age 23, I know I could not go back to working for someone else and leave my newest baby boy, Parker in daycare if I could possibly find any way around it. My husband has been a business owner for 8 years & wanted to invest in me to create the same lifestyle he had built him self, the gift of more family time & financial freedom. We decided a boutique would be worth a shot, as there weren’t many shopping places in 2019 when I opened my business . We decided to cut overhead cost & do online only until I was stable enough to take on a brick & mortar. For a year I worked completely from home out of my garage boutique. We quickly outgrew the garage & I was able to secure a space in Lynn haven, wall to wall with my husbands business. Initially when I started this business, aside from being able to be home with my children, I wanted to open an affordable clothing store simply because any boutique I had been in had insanely high prices and it was so discouraging not being able to buy anything.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is crucial in the day and age we live in today. It is an absolute must to use social media to your advantage. Facebook pages and more importantly facebook groups are absolutely free tools to grow your business financially and physically. Before we launched our website, we strictly sold on our Facebook group. After a year being open we created an Instagram which we should have done at the get go! Nevertheless, our Facebook group is right at 5 thousand members & our Instagram is right at 10 thousand followers.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped build my reputation, is my passion and drive I represent within my boutique. Constant word of mouth, Facebook and Instagram story sharing & our daily drops full of new arrivals every single day. We have created a demand for snagging new arrivals every night at 8pm. The more shares we get, the more discovered we are!
