We recently connected with Caroline Maréchal and have shared our conversation below.
Caroline, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Moving abroad! It was something I had in mind since my young age. I always loved traveling and discovering new landscapes and new cultures.
And then, you have your first job, you found your family… Always not the good timing, and one day this could be possible and I said yes let’s go!
Moving to California during a worldwide pandemic was the most important and incredible risk I have never taken in my entire life.
I stepped outside my comfort zone, explored new possibilities, and pushed boundaries of what I thought was possible.
At first of course , it was very, very tough to leave everything and restart a new life from scratch at 6K miles away from my home.
I left my loving job, my loving family, my loving friends, my loving country and my Parisian way of life.
But now ,I am so grateful for this new exciting chapter, this thrilling and enjoyable experience for which I have no regrets.
I learned so much about myself and discovered hidden talents and passions that I didn’t know.
What a blast ! I should have done this big jump a long time ago.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey hi! My name is Caroline Marechal.
I am a French entertainment PR and communications professional with over 20 years of integrated marketing and publicity experience in film and TV series creating, developing and executing innovative and creative publicity and communication campaigns that generate consumer interest and drive sales.
My qualifications include 15 years with Warner Bros. in Paris (France) in the theatrical in-house publicity department. In average we had around 10 to 15 film releases per year. I worked with amazing and talented filmmakers, producers and talents and on fantastic franchise such as DC Comics and Harry Potter.
I have a deep knowledge and understanding of the industry trends and television/film landscape and a passion for streaming, content, storytelling, television, entertainment, pop culture, production and events.
I moved to Los Angeles almost 3 years ago from Paris in France.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I am living the life that I always wanted to live which is personal and unique to me; I can trust myself to risk, to experiment and to explore. That’s something I was always looking for but I was always afraid of.
I am now more confident and able to take risks that allow me to achieve what I am passionate about and enjoy doing it.
For example, I love cinema and I love working on film or TV show. Not only I enjoy creating new publicity campaigns, overseeing talent tour or organizing World Premiere, I am also skilled at them.
It’s very self-rewarding!
Just believe in yourself, take risks and you will be able to do your best work ever !

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of a publicity campaign is a strong emotion and the engagement a large audience. It’s the joy of bringing something new and unique, expressing oneself authentically, and witnessing the positive impact it can have on others;
For that, you need to be persuasive, original, creative, personalised and targeted.
It’s always a challenge to get all these together but not impossible.
For example, I worked on the launch of the last HARRY POTTER movie and participated in an unique French Premiere in Paris in presence of members of the film crew.
It was the largest public premiere ever organized in France with 8,000 spectators on a 3D screen of 30 meters which enter in the Guinness Book of Records.
It was amazing and a fantastic memory in my career.
