Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carolina Waldroff. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Carolina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to leave behind a legacy of love and light.
I recently lost a dear friend who was like my own grandmother. Her impact in my life and the lives of many others was huge. I believe her legacy of love and light will live on through those who knew her.
I too hope when those who look at my life will see not only what I’ve done, created, or accomplished, but will see the joy and love I’ve brought to the world.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
All my life I’ve been a creative. From childhood days playing dress up and singing songs with lyrics I made up to my theatre days, acting career in LA, and arts in crafts exploding with glitter.
I always had a camera of some sort in my hand. I had cool video cameras where I created and directed stories and digital cameras that let me show the world how I see from my perspective.
Into adulthood, I put aside creativity to pursue a different career path, but at the end of the day, I needed an outlet for expression.
When I met my husband, we decided we’d begin a life of traveling together. He’s a travel nurse, so we move every 3-6months. I needed to do something I could take anywhere! I turned back to my creative roots, bought a Nikon DSLR, and educated myself to become ready enough to take clients.
Now that I’m almost 2 years into Carolina Waldroff Photography, I’m so proud to say that my growth has been absolutely tremendous in a short amount of time and I’m absolutely living my passion!!
I believe that the thing that sets my art apart, is not only myself, but the art of connection. When I’m behind the camera, I love to connect with my subject. We are creating beautiful imagery together.
I’m bringing the vision that lives in my mind to life, and it would be nothing without my clients!
I pride myself in creating art that lasts beyond a lifetime, and I hope to continue to share that art and connections with the world!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Social media is such a powerful thing. I’ve passed out business cards and flyers, but there’s nothing compared to creating a “viral” video or interacting with folks online. It also helps to put your face and get your name out at local fairs or markets, but social media is the way to connect best… and it’s FREE!
Have you ever had to pivot?
I’m constantly adapting and “pivoting” throughout my life and career. With all the moves, it’s an interesting take on marketing and spreading my name short takes at a time. Just when I think I get connected enough to a community, we are on the way to a new location! I try not to get discouraged and with every new location I come back with full force! It’s great to learn from marketing mistakes and learn how to market to all audiences. I love to learn and grow, when I finally settle down, I hope to be ready for my new home.
