We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carolina Mascarin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Carolina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge it might be that every person has a camera now in their pockets, but this has been an encouragement for us as a company, we try to go to trainings at least once every year, practice new techniques, set our company apart on what we can offer our clients.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We are a Colombian family team, that calls Charleston, SC home; we value cultural differences. Since we started our business, we have been serving the Hispanic community and we are the leaders in this market. We have been in the photography and video service for over 20 years.

Carolina our lead lead photographer has been focusing on wedding, quinceañeras and family photography from the beginning of her career. Edgar is a TV producer with 30 years of experience. We are based in Charleston, South Carolina but we travel for projects all over the world.

We like to focus on documenting weddings and quinceañeras, some memories should be unforgettable. Our job is to help you preserve those memories for years to come.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My past work is my competition, trying to be a better photographer than the one I was yesterday by practicing and educating my self.

How did you build your audience on social media?

This might not be a secret but you have to present and positive on social media, post at least 3 times a week, be consistent with what you post, try to leave any personal views on religion and politics out of you business profiles.
