Carolina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? My best investment has been starting my podcast ANGLE ON PRODUCERS. There had been so many times when I’d been having conversations with friends or colleagues where I’d wished someone had been recording so I could share it with the world. In an industry where so much is gatekept and everything can feel like an uphill battle, I wanted to create an industry resource that would be available to everyone. Every time someone tells me how much they love the podcast, it means the world.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Carolina Groppa and an Emmy nominated film producer. I was born in Brazil and moved to the states at a young age with little knowledge of the culture or language. That immigrant drive has stayed with me in all aspects of my life. I’ve built my career from the ground up, and I’m incredibly proud of it.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love being a part of the storytelling process. I remember watching movies when I was a little girl and thinking, “I want to make people feel the way I do when I watch a great movie.” It’s remarkable I get to make a living doing that!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to uplift diverse stories by finding accessible and commercial ways to share them with audiences. If I can help offer a new perspective or change even one person’s mind for the better, I know I’ve done my job.
