We were lucky to catch up with Carole Vaudable recently and have shared our conversation below.
Carole, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
When Jonathan (name changed for privacy) first reached out to me, he wasn’t just looking for a home renovation. He was searching for a reset. At the time, he thought he just needed new furniture and better lighting, but deep down, he knew he was seeking something much bigger. His beloved cat had recently passed away, his long-term relationship had ended, and his apartment, once a place of comfort, felt like it belonged to someone he no longer was. His life had changed, but his space hadn’t.
From the moment I stepped into his home, I could sense the weight it carried. The energy was stagnant, cluttered with reminders of a past he was ready to move on from. Old furniture from his previous relationship, piles of things he no longer used, and a layout that didn’t serve the way he lived anymore. This wasn’t just about aesthetics. It was about creating a home where he could feel like he belonged again.
Before I design anything, I always bring in my home organizer. They worked with Jonathan to clear out the past before we could build his future. He let go of old clothes, gifts from an ex, furniture that no longer fit his lifestyle. It wasn’t easy. Letting go never is. But with every item that left, I could see him breathing a little easier.
From there, we designed a space that truly reflected who he was becoming. We created custom furniture tailored to his needs. An elegant yet masculine office space where he could focus. A dining area that encouraged connection. A bedroom designed for deep rest. Every detail was intentional. Luxurious textures, soft lighting, colors that made him feel grounded and confident. His home started to feel like a sanctuary.
And then, something incredible happened.
Jonathan started to show up differently in his own life. He made more time for himself. He shaved more closely, dressed with more intention, and stopped postponing vacations. His confidence grew. He started hosting friends again, feeling proud of his space. And one day, he called me with news. He had just received a promotion.
By the time we completed the project, Jonathan wasn’t just living in a beautifully designed space. He was living fully, stepping into the next level of his life. And this is why I do what I do. Because design isn’t just about beautiful homes. It’s about the people who live in them.
The clients who come to me aren’t just looking for a home makeover. They’re standing at the edge of change. They’re ready to elevate not just their interiors but their entire lives. My job is to guide them there. To design a space that doesn’t just reflect where they are but where they want to go.
Because when your home is aligned with the person you want to become, everything else starts to fall into place.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that, can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating spaces that make people feel good and empowered. That’s the core of what I do: I help clients craft environments that go beyond beauty to support their personal growth and well-being.
I didn’t take the typical path into interior design. After studying intellectual property law at the Sorbonne and working in design at Hermès in Paris, I developed a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and quality. Eventually, I realized my true passion was in interior design, so I shifted to the world of interiors in New York. I brought that same attention to detail and love for luxurious, functional design to my clients’ homes.
Now, I focus on helping individuals who are ready for a change, not just in their homes, but in their lives. Whether it’s a large-scale renovation, custom furniture design, art advisory, or creating a space that truly reflects who they are, my goal is always to align the physical space with their aspirations. I believe a home should be a true reflection of the person living in it, and I work with clients to make that happen.
What makes me different is my approach to design. I don’t just decorate; I create environments that help people step into the next phase of their lives. Many of my clients experience positive shifts in their careers, relationships, and overall mindset once their space supports who they are becoming.
What I’m most proud of is the lasting impact my work has on my clients. It’s not just about transforming their homes, but about seeing them step into new versions of themselves with more confidence, focus, and clarity.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building my reputation in the market has been all about creating a seamless and efficient experience for my clients. I want every project to feel like a breeze in their life, which means streamlining the entire process from start to finish. My goal is to remove the stress that often comes with home renovations, design projects, and even just selecting furniture.
One key to my success is organization and responsiveness. I make it a priority to reply to every client email within 24 hours on working days, even if I don’t have an immediate answer. Acknowledging their message makes a huge difference, and it’s something that sets me apart in a world where many people don’t respond for days or even weeks.
Let’s be honest, how often do we deal with private institutions or companies where you’re left waiting for days, and even after you follow up multiple times, there’s still no reply? I personally deal with major institutions where I pay top-tier management fees and it can take them a week, or more, to respond after several follow-ups. That’s unacceptable to me, and I won’t let it happen to my clients.
By maintaining efficiency and communication, I’ve managed to build a reputation for being ahead of the game, ensuring that my clients feel heard and taken care of every step of the way. It’s these small yet impactful things that make all the difference in ensuring a smooth and successful collaboration.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Leading with Soul by Lee G. Bolman and Terrence E. Deal really shifted how I think about leadership and business. It’s not just about getting results or managing teams, it’s about connecting on a deeper level and leading with purpose. The book helped me realize that running a business isn’t just about numbers, it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels empowered and aligned with the company’s values.
It made me rethink how I approach my work with clients and my team. Instead of focusing purely on tasks, I started paying more attention to the bigger picture, how I can lead with authenticity, inspire growth, and make sure the work we’re doing feels meaningful. It’s all about balance, mixing heart with strategy, and this book really showed me how to do that. It’s definitely one that continues to inspire my approach to business and life.
