Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carol Petredean, Tavia Di Salvio, Brianna Di Salvio, & Trevah Di Salvio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Carol Petredean, Tavia Di Salvio, Brianna Di Salvio, & Trevah Di Salvio, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
RafiraEva Studio resides on a 140 acre family compound. The studio and its buildings were owned by George and Betty Petredean. When Carol Petredean inherited the land-she and her three daughters knew they wanted to keep the property in the family and do something special with it.
Celebration, travel, and creativity played an important role in the Petredeans’ lives. So it was a natural transition to turn the house and land into an event venue and vacation rental Rafira and Eva were Carol’s grandmothers-and naming the studio RafiraEva was a way to honor their memory.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
RafiraEva Studio is a mid century modern home situated on beautiful wooded grounds. We offer a unique space to rent for celebrations, workshops, and other gatherings. The home is available on Airbnb as a vacation rental and also has an art studio available for art classes and other creative ventures.
RafiraEva focuses on building community by partnering with other local businesses and entrepreneurs to host events like pop up dinners, flower and wreath workshops, artisan markets, and wellness workshops.
Our goal is to create a memorable experience for guests, whether they are attending an event that we are hosting or renting the home for a weekend with friends.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
The RafiraEva Studio team consists of Carol Petredean and three of her daughters Tavia , Brianna, and Trevah. The family has always been known for throwing fun and creative celebrations for family and friends – New Year’s Eve parties, holiday sing a longs, weddings, and more. Each team member lends their own unique assets to the partnership and a shared vision of creating a space for celebration, creativity and enjoyment.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
In order to get the word out about our venue, we started by hosting our own events so people could see the space and get to know us firsthand. That has led to event attendees renting the space for their own celebrations – bridal showers, baby showers, etc. By partnering with other small businesses for these events we have been able to grow our reach and offerings. We’ve been so pleased to see the supportiveness of other local entrepreneurs and the community. Other than word of mouth, social media, building our email list, and surveying our followers, have been effective tools to help us grow.
