We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carnage Bodybagg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Carnage thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My best Meaningful Project was when I did the Joyner Lucas “I’m Sorry” Veterans Edition remix for a mixtape I put out. I got so many messages on my socials of people going through things that they were Afraid to admit or I’ve also had people messaging about sending this to someone they knew going through things of such and said that they said themselves that the song truly helped them as well. and that helps prove me point also that music is definitely a major part of people’s lives

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Carnage Bodybagg is a Hip Hop artist from Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Cleveland in 2010. Cleveland has a special place in his heart because of the rich tradition here and the love they have for lots of different types of music. He started really taking music serious in 2013. Carnage has been featured on www.coast2coastmixtapes.com several times. The first appearance on the site was on a mixtape titled “Next Up” Vol 251 with the song “Bust It Wide Open”, Then Carnage was voted to be on “Hottest In Ohio Mixtape Vol 4” soon after with his song “#1”.
He is currently working independently and self-managed, with his gritty gangsta style with comparisons to Kevin Gates and The Game. Carnage has done some big shows on his own, first one on July, 11th 2015 opening for King Chip at the world famous Agora, in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. He has also opened for Layzie Bone of the legendary rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on August, 29th 2015 at The Foundry Concert Club in Lakewood Ohio as well as Jelly Roll and Doobie the hard work and buzz earned him his own headliner through Earth Entertainment on May, 14th 2016 in Columbus Ohio. Since working with Earth Entertainment he has done several more headlining concerts and performing for Universal Music Reps in Cleveland in early 2017. Carnage continues to work on his craft and drops Great Music all the time.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Representing myself gives me the opportunity to stay true to not only myself but also to music and fans to give them ME every time I drop new music without having to worry or argue with labels on what they thought I should have said or didn’t say. So definitely the most rewarding part is doing all the hustling myself.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Again, just to yourself and start putting out music for you and give people the opportunity to hear your story and if they relate then boom word of mouth is always the best promotion you can get. Fans love who they love. Don’t expect to go viral on your first release and have millions of views and streams because that will drain you mentally quick.
