Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carmen Castillo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Carmen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.
I believe at the moment I’m entering the most innovative chapter of my career. With my background with the film/theatre field and wellness/fitness, I’m starting to find ways to bridge the gaps within the two. Artistic endeavors, and the artistic fields themselves rely a lot of times In ignoring the personal needs or at times safety of these individuals. I’m certain that when you give the most you can receive the most in relationships and the workplace is a business relationship as well. I hope that my efforts can be the blueprint for a new age of wellness in the arts.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
One Moment Wellness was a project that resulted from my burn out. At some point I have worked 7 days a week, up to 4 jobs and gigs at a time. My toxic trait was thinking that all that was a flex. Once COVID hit and everything went to a pause and I could only rely on one job, is when I started dealing with the consequences of that lifestyle. The pandemic truly opened my eyes to everything and gave the perspective I needed to appreciate life in those Moments.
I understand life can be crazy, busy, sad, euphoric and it is more about being in that moment. Whenever I would think about my lifestyle back then It’s clear that I needed to find MOMENTS to take care of myself.
This is the core of One Moment Wellness. Providing moments in its services and products that can aid into your self care. It is ok to take those moments for yourself. In one hour you can do plenty different activities that are for your well-being.
After that idea was born that’s when I started seeking more moments in my personal life to take care of myself, or show love and appreciation for me and those around me.
The biggest idea behind One Moment Wellness is that the best health care can start with self care.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I think the best way to get new clients is networking. Some of the best clients have been people that just knew someone I know and that word of mouth was much more effective than any sponsored posts I could make
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Honestly, I think what helped me most was that I was working in two different fields at the same time. That is something that truly helped build that reputation because I was actively present in both. And it is also something that helped me shape and find where I could take my company and what I can do with it. It has been evolving alongside with myself. I don’t know if all business owners feel about that but having that relationship with my company makes me feel like I’m slowly aligning myself to my purpose.
