We were lucky to catch up with Carly& Rachel Benewith & Gomez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Carly& Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Communication is key to any successful relationship, whether it be with a colleague, friend, or significant other. In order to achieve common goals, it is essential that everyone involved is on the same page and understands each other’s roles and expectations. With Mountain Air Marketing, we are constantly evolving and evaluating the way we communicate and deliver great efforts to clients.

Trust is also important in order to build strong relationships and create an environment of mutual respect. Without trust, it can be difficult to collaborate effectively and reach consensus. This goes hand in hand with both our partnership, along with our relationships we have with our clients.

Lastly, successful people are typically those who have drive and are willing to learn from their mistakes and grow from their experiences. Whether it’s learning how to better communicate with others or building trust within a client, those who are successful know that there is always room for improvement. Without the drive aspect, it can be difficult to achieve the ability to learn and grow from situations you are involved in. We have learned A LOT from past relationships, situations, and mistakes, which is the best part of learning to be a better you.

Rachel and Carly are the owners of Mountain Air Marketing, in Colorado Springs. Together, they have been building this local Digital Marketing company with a team of women supporting in Web Design, SEO, Social Media Marketing and Content Creation services. We are passionate about helping our clients reach their full potential online. Some people think that they can just jump into any market and be successful. The truth is, if you’re not willing to put in the time, effort and dollars then it doesn’t matter how great your product or service might seem–no one will want it!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

50% of our business is through referrals, which to us, indicates that we must be doing something right.

I believe one of the main reasons we’ve been so successful with client retention is our communication style. We are always planning two – three months ahead and have a clear roadmap of deliverables and expectations for both us and our client’s success. Mountain Air Marketing will be turning 5 in July and we have achieved 140 5-star reviews from clients we have worked with!

Another big differentiator that has built up our reputation in Colorado is that we are a women owned and women operated marketing agency. Surprisingly, this has been one of the biggest selling points of our brand. As a team of women, we all specialize in a key offering within the agency. Some of us solely focus on social media, while others may focus on SEO or web design. The breadth of knowledge each member offers truly shows in the quality of content and the monthly reports month after month.

Finally, I think our reputation for being a kind and helpful team has also helped us attract new business. We’re always happy to offer advice and support, even if it’s not directly related to the project we’re working on. This approach seems to have resonated with a lot of our clients, and we’re grateful for their trust in our ideas.

How’d you meet your business partner?

We both worked in the same industry and shared the same ethical standards and quality of work. We met through a friend who knew we would be great together. When we started working on a project we quickly realized that we had complementary skill sets. We decided to go into business together because we knew that we could trust each other to always put the business first. Carly has always been great with building relationships and trust, and Rachel has always been great with design and controls when it comes to running a business.

We’ve been working together for five years now and our business has never been stronger. Our partnership is built on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to always doing what’s best for the business. Creating a partnership was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We are best friends, inside and outside of work, and we know that we will support and love one another no matter what!
