We recently connected with Carlos Ramos and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Carlos thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I’m reminded of the risk I took by pursuing Dateless Possessions in Midland, Texas. I actually moved here for my daughter – she’s the reason I make sacrifices and push myself to be the best version of myself. Being a parent is my top priority, and l’m grateful to be able to provide for her and be there for every milestone.
Pursuing Dateless Possessions in Midland comes with its own set of challenges, but I’m determined to make it work. I’ve had opportunities that many artists would kill for – l’ve been inviter’ showcase my art
at prestigious expos
ndon and New
York City as much as l’d love to take
the world by storm, my daughter’s needs come first. I’ve had to turn down those opportunities, and it’s not always easy.
Despite the sacrifices, I’m proud of what I’ve built here in Midland. l’ve created a community, l’ve honed my craft, and l’ve stayed true to my vision. When the cameras roll, you’ll see the real me – a parent who’s passionate about his art, dedicated to his daughter, and determined to make his dreams a reality, even if it means taking a different path. I’m excited to share my story and show the world what it means to prioritize what’s truly important. I’m super stoked about my latest projects. I’ve been working on some new paintings that are still a surprise to everyone, and I’m really excited to share them soon. Plus, I’ve got a two-page spread in a magazine coming up where I’m being interviewed about my art, which is a nice change of pace from people just knowing me for my collecting. It’s been a pleasant surprise to see my art gaining attention, and I’m looking forward to sharing my story and creative process with a wider audience.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Carlos Ramos, a collector, dealer, and artist with a passion for unique antiques, art, sculptures, and rare items. I’ve been fortunate enough to build a business selling these treasures to antique shops all over Texas, from big cities like Dallas and Houston to smaller towns.
My journey started with a deep appreciation for history, art, and the stories behind each piece. I’ve always been drawn to the thrill of the hunt, scouring flea markets, estate sales, and auctions to find one-of-a-kind items that would captivate collectors and enthusiasts.
As a dealer, I provide a curated selection of rare and authentic pieces that solve the problem of finding unique and high-quality items for my clients. What sets me apart is my keen eye for detail, my knowledge of art and antiques, and my ability to tell the stories behind each piece.
As an artist, I’m proud of the creative works I’ve developed under the brand Dateless Possessions. My art is a reflection of my experiences, and I’m grateful to have a platform to share my vision with others.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the community I’ve created around my art. I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that I’m dedicated to authenticity, quality, and storytelling. Whether it’s through my dealings in antiques or my artistic pursuits, I’m committed to sharing the beauty and significance of each piece I encounter.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my audience on social media has been an organic process. I started sharing my finds, my art, and my passion for antiques and collectibles on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. I focused on showcasing the unique stories behind each piece, sharing high-quality photos, and engaging with potential buyers and enthusiasts.
As I shared more about my experiences as a dealer and artist, people began to take notice. I think what helped grow my audience was being authentic, sharing behind-the-scenes content, and showing the process of hunting for rare items. People connected with my passion, and word-of-mouth helped spread the word about my social media presence.
I’ve also collaborated with other collectors, artists, and antique shops, which has introduced my work to new audiences. Consistency and engagement have been key – I make sure to regularly post updates, respond to comments, and share insights into the world of antiques and art.
Now, I’m excited to take my social media presence to the next level, especially with the upcoming reality TV show and new projects in the works!

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
To be honest, my biggest influences come from my experiences as a collector and artist. I’ve learned more from trial and error, and from the people I’ve met along the way, than from any specific book or resource. , building relationships, and staying true to one’s vision. These principles guide my approach to both my art and my business endeavors. Cam the man Stacy crow, Joe from robot monster , Joe from midland, Jillllian , Samantha freeman , ash, Jason Thomas Delprincipe’s Stuart and little foot have definitely all been there for me when I needed them I cannot forget mark whom is no longer with us.
That being said, I do appreciate the wisdom of people who’ve come before me, and I’ve enjoyed reading about art, history, and philosophy. But my approach to business and art is largely driven by instinct, passion, and a willingness to take risks.
Juice WRLD’s music is a big influence on my creative process, though! His energy and authenticity resonate with me.
In terms of videos and essays, I’ve found value in the works of artists and thinkers who emphasize the importance of authenticity, creativity, and perseverance. The ideas of people like Banksy, who challenges conventional norms through art, resonate with me.
