We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carlos Harleaux. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carlos below.
Alright, Carlos thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I started my LLC, 7th Sign Consulting in 2023. The idea came after 10 years of running my own publishing company, 7th Sign Publishing. I wanted to still help people but from a bird’s eye view. I started studying pros and cons about LLCs and decided it was the way for me to go, as I entered the consulting space. I also had my first client while I built the business, which was awesome.

Carlos, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sure, I am involved in several things. My passions are writing, poetry and podcasting. I’ve been writing and publishing my own books since 2011. Book 17 is an author’s accountability journal called Pick Me Up. It’s a follow-up to my 2023 book, Can I Pick Your Brain?
I also enjoy helping others publish their books, specifically indie authors. That’s what birthed the idea for my publishing company and later becoming a publishing consulting.
I really enjoy podcasting as well. The Water Bearer Podcast is a weekly, zodiac-based podcast I host. It’s been extremely fun and a great creative outlet for me. January will be the podcast’s three-year anniversary.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I did more shadowing of people in the fields of writing and podcasting. Much of what I know is trial and error. Especially with writing, there wasn’t as much of a wealth of information online to find. However, I think the best learning experiences come from other people and their stories.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love helping people see things from a different viewpoint that they may not have ever explored. I think that’s a duty that all creatives should take seriously, introducing new facets of life through their passion or art.
