We recently connected with Carlos Fabre and have shared our conversation below.
Carlos, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I feel like in the Electronic Music Scene or industry as a producer, artist and DJ myself, Known as IMLOS, which can be found on Spotify iTunes, Pandora and all main distribution I have noticed a rising of the Grime genre. It started in the UK and has slowly started to make its way over to the US. It is now pretty relevant and prominent in California, Washington, Colorado and making its way to Dallas as being one of the first Artists to bring that genre to Texas mainly Austin and Dallas. This trend is making its way into venues that play Drum n Bass and are shifting over much like that genre did in the 2000s

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Carlos Roberto Fabre and I am known as Artiqulate (Electronic Trap) IMLOS (Electronic, Industrial, Techno, Drum and Bass and Grime) and also as Carlos Fabre. I started producing seriously as an artist in Los Angeles when someone gave me a Maschine MPC. I worked on a few albums and singles under the artist name Artiqulate I gained some recognition and was offered to do a few shows in California. I have worked with several industry artists that were in the Electronic scene. I then decided to change my artist name to IMLOS and focus on getting a certification or degree and change genres. I began making Industrial and Electonic music when I started at RRFC in Los Angeles but living in Dallas. I released one of my favorite and first albums REBORN in 2023 under IMLOS. As I progressed I began learning a bit more about Grime and Drum and Bass. This then was blended into my production style. Now in 2024 I have gained 145k plays and a fan base or following. My new releases Ghost and Liquid Box have really shown what my versatility as a producer has reached and my professionalism, artistry and originality. As I have started to book more shows my future is bright in the industry especially as an underground internationally known artist.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
My favorite Marketing campaign I have worked on is when I released With Love. We did a targeted social media campaign and ran ads with the release. Thousands of people interacted with the ads and it even gained me enough recognition to start working with a label from Italy Industrial Techno United. However, since that campaign and with growth as an artist I have decided to work independently and start my own label IMLOS Records which can be seen at imlosrecords.com

Have you ever had to pivot?
I have worked in the advertising marketing and design world before while music was just a hobby but as I have started to take music more seriously and professionally I now own my own label and have started to book shows and release more albums and singles.
