Carlos, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve always loved and enjoy music of all sorts. I’ve always had a way of enjoying music differently more in depth by paying attention specially to the sounds and instruments used, therefore making me want to learn and ask questions such as how did they make that sound? Or what kind of instrument were they using in that specific part of the song? I truly was captivated by it. At the same we have quite a few musicians in our family. Mainly with the use of acoustic guitars which is my favorite instrument. I just simply wanted to learn more and more about the musical part of things. Just very curious about it. I first was introduced to GarageBand through a close friend who at the time had a MacBook where I would experiment on. After learning more of it, I fell in love with it and just wanted to keep creating and expand my knowledge into music making. I became so strongly addicted that I myself bought a MacBook and began from there. This was in 2017, which was the year I can say I started officially pursuing my dream of becoming a music producer. One day I decided to show my close friends some of the work that I created and they were just very impressed. They told me I should keep going which created that motivation to do so. Ever since then I haven’t stopped and definitely have no plans to.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I met some local artists when I worked at the mall at an urban clothing store. I was already afraid to show them what I have been working on, but for some reason, one day I decided to show one of them the best beats that I have done and truly enough they thought it was good enough and impressed on how I’ve just been making music for such a short period of time. That obviously grew on me and I became more serious about it and was addicted to learning. YouTube was probably my biggest teacher and I learned so much from tutorials and secrets into making music. I didn’t wanna just stick to one sound making me want to make all types of beats and instrumentals from all types of genres. I still stick to that rule to this day. I wanna work with as many artists as I can so that’s why I make all types of beats in different genres. Mainly what I’m known for is for hip hop, rap/trap type beats which to be honest for some reason are easy to make. I guess it’s just natural. I landed my first major placement with CMG the label and worked with one the artists from there in his first album. In fact, it blew up through tik tok. I couldn’t believe how much it was being used and just made me very proud of my work. Although is a very competitive business, socially with producers, I don’t try to think about those things and just create for pull simply from passion. I do have more projects in the future and hope that everything keeps going well.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to work with simply everyone. Wether they are known artists or not, I want as many people to enjoy my music and use it. It is very satisfying knowing that people respect the work and want to give me a chance to show them what I’m capable of.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe society simply just need to give others a chance and at the same time be honest with them. That way they can become hungry on becoming better. That’s one way I learned. Creativity is key and having the urge to learn will push your limits. Mainly use passion as your guide to become what you want to be.
