We were lucky to catch up with Carlo Loiudice recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlo, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I was only 21 when I decided to become an actor. It was the first risk I took in my life. Living as an actor is not easy, especially if you start out in southern Italy. I wore the shoes of many different characters for years on stages all over Italy, until one day I discovered Berlin, fell in love with it and left everything behind. This is the second risk I have taken and I have been living in the German capital since 2011. But it doesn’t end here.
My passion for personal growth led me to discover the power of coaching and today I have my own business as a public speaking and life coach.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
A friend of mine told me one day that she had given up on her career because of the fear of public speaking. I couldn’t believe it. I did not know that stage fright could be so debilitating.
I realised that I could do something, that my years of experience as an actor could be useful to many people like her.
So I started to study and teach public speaking.
To be able to do this to the best of my ability, I chose to attend a life coaching school. To be a good public speaker it is not only necessary to have acting techniques, but you have to overcome fears and insecurities.
I am a guide for my clients. I accompany them on the road to self-improvement and we have a lot of fun.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I have always believed that I was one of those people who, when they put their mind to something, hardly ever change their mind. Not so. It was one of the many stories we tell ourselves that are not conducive to change.
Berlin made me rediscover myself. Here you are immersed in a cosmopolitan and dynamic environment. Here you learn that change means growth.
How did you build your audience on social media?
When I started my coaching business, I had very few clients. We were at the beginning of the pandemic and meeting new people was practically impossible. So I created a YouTube channel and then a podcast (Parola di Life Coach). I started telling people what I was doing, giving them free advice and tips on public speaking and life coaching.
People started following me and writing to me. And from there, the first clients started arriving and then requests from companies for training courses.
Today I have thousands of followers. I have a community of wonderful people.
