We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carla Morales. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carla below.
Carla, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best thing that a photographer have to do is STUDY, learn, the photography is not the camera that you have or the brand that you use, the photographer is te person who know how to take the esence of the moment, know the right pose, the right light, knows the camera but, without knowlegde you can’t do anything.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Carla Morales, I am Venezuelan living in Miami, Architect, wife, mother of two, and Clickyourmoments Photographer. Photography winked at me when my first daughter was born 11 years ago. I wanted to learn how to use a camera. I followed a learning path at the Roberto Mata school in Caracas that led me to have this hobby to a job until 2017, where Clickyourmoments was born in Miami, is my American son and my personal brand for a little over 6 years when I decided to dedicate myself professionally to photography.
I have let my style and life lead me to what I do today Family photography, Candid photography, Photography for personal brands, branding, events, Headshots, products, special occasions and other things.
In Miami I continued my studies at Focustudio and I am one of those who think that in this job you do not stop learning, so I am constantly looking to learn new things.
Photography and its magic captivated me and I am grateful for it daily, because thanks to them I have been able to meet spectacular people, leaving them the charm of having moments for a lifetime and others that I have helped through my work to promote their ventures.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Perseverance, and continuous work have been a fundamental part of my path, the quality of work regardless of who the client is, falling and getting up every time, being open to learning is always essential to achieve great things in life. . Not giving up and knowing that everything happens because something better is always coming.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Letting go, and realizing that everyone is an individual who will not act and do things the way you do them, your values and professional ethics should never be negotiated. Friends are not the ones who work with you, those are co-workers, you must know how to differentiate that very well so as not to disappoint you. Live without expectations so that life can surprise you.
