We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carisa Tucker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Carisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Every year on our anniversary, to show our appreciation to our clients we fill little bags with our logo on it with goodies. We give out coupons for free loads with a special hand written note from us.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
CnC Laundry Service is a pick up and delivery laundry service that offers a number of different laundering services for busy moms/dads, entrepreneurs, disabled and elderly people and the list goes on. The idea came from a conversation between me and my husband Ced. I love doing laundry and have always loved doing laundry even as a child. Growing up I would do everyone in the house laundry with no problem or hesitation. One day I was expressing my love for laundry to my husband Ced and he suggested I start the business. It was only right to name it after the both of us. We take pride in our work, providing our clients with great customer service and an easy stress free process while using the service. We actually had a client that was so impressed with the service that she was willing to invest in helping us get the space and equipment needed to help CnC be even bigger then what it already is, but unfortunately we had no luck finding a laundromat that was for sale in Kansas City or any surrounding areas. The plan now is to continue working towards getting a laundromat built from the ground up.
We’d love to hear about how you met you business partner.
Me and co founder Ced actually met when we were 15 years old at our schools high school basketball game. His school was playing against my school. Neither one of us never in a million years would’ve thought that almost 2 decades later that we would be married and business partners.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for new clients is mainly social media, based on ads we run or things we post on our business pages. We also receive a lot of referrals. We have learned over the last couple of years that word of mouth travels fast and it has brought us a lot of business. Occasionally I go out and pass out flyers and business cards and it has brought in business as well but not as much as the other 2 mentioned.
