We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carina Marie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carina below.
Carina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The project I’m working on currently means a lot to me. I just released part 1 of my debut album as an EP called Scribbles. A 5 song project that explores the beauty and chaos of not caring too much and learning to let go. In 2026, I’ll be releasing a second EP alternatively, about the ups and downs of caring too deeply. This 2 part project will unfold into my debut album and I’m so thrilled that the music I’ve been making in my bedroom for the past year will be out in the world for people to connect with :)

Carina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Carina Marie and I’m an independent singer/songwriter based in NYC. I write soul-pop music and have spent the past 5 years refining and exploring my sound and leaning into what I like writing about the most. You could say my music feels like a warm hug or an older sister guiding you through the highs and lows of what it feels like to navigate life in your 20’s. My goal is to create music and community where listeners can have an outlet to connect to something that makes them feel seen and heard.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is making people feel things through my music. I love when people tell me they really connected with a song, or it got them through a hard time, or they feel seen and understood. I get imposter syndrome sometimes, but connecting to others through music is a huge reason I do it all. We all want to feel understood.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Being part of a community is so important and costs you nothing! I’m a huge believer in connecting with artists and people of all kinds, Whether you send a demo to a friend, show up to a small artist’s local show, give another artist a shout out on social media, you don’t even realize it but these little gestures help yourself and others out more than you know to build a strong network of people who may support you later down the line.
