We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cari Kenzie . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cari below.
Cari , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Ooh, my best piece of advice. How do I choose? Ultimately in any giving convesation with a client there comes a deep insight that profoundly speaks into the moment they are navigating. And many times it’s resonant on a colletive level as well. Yet, having to choose one, here is what I would say.
I was recently chatting with a client, a powerhouse of a woman who is running her own business, and she had hit a bump in the road. One of her team members was throwing the vibe off through her actions and the conversations she was bringing forward not only internally but also with clients. This was throwing the rhythm off for the rest of the staff. Cynthia, had noticed and knew something had to change, however she was hoping that things would smooth out. Unfortunately that is not what was transpiring and she didn’t know the next move.
During our converation I could feel the stress and scarcity mindset creeping in. She was caught up in what a transition would mean and how it would create a lack of staff and potential financial strain. She was stuck in a fog, and I knew she needed a bit of wisdom to clear it up. Intuitively this nugget dropped in. “Focus solely and wholly on the mission and allow the universe to focus solely and wholly on you.”
In that moment something clicked. She realized she’d been so caught up in the immediate issues that she’d lost sight of the big picture, the real reason she started her business in the first place. “When you put your heart and soul into the mission, everything else starts to fall into place. Trust me, the universe has a funny way of sorting things out.”
And you know what? She took that advice and ran with it. She started focusing on what really mattered, her mission, and all the pieces started coming together. That team member? Sorted itself out without any drama. Cynthia found her groove again, and her business started thriving, not just in profits, but in impact and fulfillment.
So, if you’re hitting a rough patch or feeling stuck, remember Cynthia’s story. Get back to your mission, trust in the universe, and watch as things start to align. It’s all about staying true to your purpose and letting the universe handle the rest. Trust me, it’s a game changer.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
You know, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs when you least expect it. My whole world turned upside down in 2013 when I found myself in the middle of the Boston Marathon, right when that terrible attack happened. I walked away with my life, but something inside me shifted. I went back to my marketing agency the next day, trying to keep it all together, but inside I was falling apart.
I was this high-achiever, always pushing, always striving. The truth is, I was being held together with duct tape. And soon enough, that started to give… and I got sick. Really sick. After years of searching, I would begin collecting diagnosis like trading cards.
Then, in 2016, everything changed. I was attending a conference, and while walking the expo hall I received a phone number that turned out to be my ticket into the world of quantum physics. Sounds wild, right? Yet this became the opening to see the world with new eyes. So I dove deep into everything—epigenetics, neuro-sciences, pro consciousness medicine. You name it, I studied it. And through following the curiosity I found healing. Complete healing.
In this I realized that we, as humans, have this incredible power to overcome. It’s all inside us. So, I decided to step into the most authentic version of myself. I listened to my inner wisdom, trusted the path ahead, and ultimately sold my business in 2019 to live my true purpose.
Now, I’m speaking on incredible stages, hosting the Curiosity. Clarity. Empowerment. podcast, and coaching amazing women through their own transformations. Individually I work with succesful, soul-driven women who find themselves in the wilderness of life, knowing there’s a path to be taken but they are not quite sure which way to go. My job? To help them clear the static, find the clarity, and step boldly into their purpose and journey.
It’s been a wild ride, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Because now, I get to guide women to their deeper truth, their inner wisdom, and that innate power that’s just waiting to be unleashed. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like seeing someone step into their full potential and live the life they’ve always dreamed of.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
You know, there’s something liberating about changing the way you see things. For the longest time, I was trapped in a cycle of competition (we all do it) and comparing my experiences, my pain, and my truth to everyone else’s. I was searching for the validation to be me, outside of myself, thinking that someone always had it worse, had it better or that I hadn’t quite “earned” the right to express my pain or wisdom.
The turning point? Boston. I was standing at the end of Boylston Street, just a day after the marathon tragedy. A reporter tapped me on the shoulder, eager to dive into my story. And in that moment, there was a voice inside my head, clear as day, said, “It’s not your story to tell.” It stopped me in my tracks, commanding my attention. I would later realize that I had been packing away my own story, my own emotions, in honor of others. It took a toll, as it does for each of us. Within months I was left with debilitating illnesses from a lifetime of emotions all boxed up.
I see this pattern play out all the time, in my audiences and with my clients. They deny their own experiences and emotions, thinking they’re not “bad enough” to warrant attention. And the result? They end up stuck, stranded in situations and walking aimlessly down paths that don’t align with their true desires and deepest knowings.
But here’s the deal. Your story, your emotions, your pain—it’s all valid. You don’t need to have a comparison chart to justify how you feel. You don’t need external validation to know your worth. You matter! It’s time to unpack those emotions, honor your journey, and validate your own experiences. Because when you do, that’s when you truly start living in alignment with your deepest truths and desires.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I think about resilience, I don’t see it as just one story or one defining moment. Reflecting on my life, whether it’s the aftermath of the Boston tragedy, navigating the rocky terrains of a recession as a business owner, or countless other moments, I have come to understand that my position at the time was more about standing in resistance than showcasing resilience.
Perspectives, however, change and mine certainly has. Through my personal journey and the transformative work I do with others, my definition of resilience has shifted entirely. It’s no longer about withstanding adversity, holding strong, or showcasing unwavering strength. That’s the old paradigm.
Resilience, to me, is about knowing your worth and having the guts to dive deep into the pain, to sift through the mess and pick out the lessons waiting to be learned. It’s about trusting yourself fully, not just in fleeting moments of bravery, but consistently, being your own rock, your own source of love and support.
This kind of resilience isn’t just for the big, life-altering moments. It’s an everyday practice, a conscious awareness. It’s about sparking curiosity, understanding each experience on a profound and compassionate level, and finding the clarity to shift any situation in a moment.
It all boils down to the ability to fully trust ourselves – knowing that we have the choice, that ultimately we are the choice. That we have the strength to go further, and the innate ability to heal, reclaim our power, and embody our inner wisdom. Resilience is more than just bouncing back; it’s about stepping into your power and living life fully, every single day.
