We’ve set up shop on Shopify, Amazon, and TikTok to make our products more accessible to everyone. In the beginning, we stuck with Shopify, but being a small business, we realized the hurdles of going up against giants like Amazon. So, we decided to team up with Amazon to get our products out to a broader audience. Selling on Amazon has boosted our product visibility, reaching customers who might not have found us otherwise, thanks to Amazon’s popularity. But, it’s not all champagne and cupcakes. The trade-off includes a hefty commission of around 63% on our earnings, along with fees for every sale, a monthly selling fee, and costs for shipping, storage, and managing returns.
On the flip side, platforms like TikTok Shop have been a breath of fresh air. They’re more seller-friendly, offering great deals and discounts for customers and sweet shipping rates for us. This approach helps us run things smoothly, providing budget-friendly solutions and an all-around better customer experience.
Diversifying our sales channels is all about finding that sweet spot between getting the word out and managing the numbers. Each platform has its perks and challenges, and our decisions come from an honest effort to be adaptable and serve our customers in the best way possible.
