From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. As I later created a career path, navigating from magazine editorial jobs to freelance writing, the content of my articles—and becoming a temporary “expert” on a specific topic I’d previously been unfamiliar with, such as dyslexia, biking through Sicily, or mindfulness in the workplace—I grew increasingly interested in diving deep into topics i could share with readers that may have some beneficial impact on them. After three decades in journalism, my interest in the science of positive psychology piqued, initiated by a desire to learn more about the mind-body connection (I was already a long-time yogi and meditator), and tools that concepts such as gratitude, compassion, connection, etc. can bring to our daily wellbeing. After pursuing a year-long certification in Positive Psychology, followed by certifications in Positive Psychology Coaching and Mindfulness Meditation Teaching—this is where the innovation comes in—I created a career in which I write, coach and teach, all linked by the subjects of health and wellbeing. Cultivating and applying these three roles has created balance, inspiration and positivity in my life, an evolution I would not have predicted.
