Cardiesse, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
A customer ordered a pack of Fresh Joe’s coffee from my website. She wanted the coffee to go to a different destination than he current address. So when she purchased the coffee she didn’t list the correct address and I shipped to what was listed so it was never delivered to desired location. After some time passed she asked where was the package and it showed delivered. I apologize for the mixup and shipped her a pack on me. Customer was satisfied. She gave me a shout on social media.
Cardiesse, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Fresh Joe’s is a coffee company I started in 2018. The name derives from my father middle name which is Joe and Fresh come from wanting your coffee fresh. Fresh Joe’s, we have a variety of flavored coffee and not just your standard blends. I have sold packages all over the US to date. It has been a honor to dedicate a line to my father (who I lost in 1996) he would be very proud had he been alive to witness this. How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Starting this business from scratch was a tough process because I didn’t think people would like the idea of pack coffee. I was thinking they would must rather have a cup to go than drip coffee. But with starting the company and providing the website.. I have gotten support from people I’ve never spoke to or seen in my life. That just let’s me on good news is spreading.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
In this business a lot of moves become a gamble and deem to be very strategic at times. I had a customer who wanted Decaf coffee but only wanted one pack.. it was gonna cost me a total of 413$ to order and have it labeled. So with it not being a high demand I had to not order that brand, a disservice to the customer but it’s not a lot of money spent with a negative on the books.
