We were lucky to catch up with Cara Fischer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cara, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was one of the most important lessons you learned in school? Why did that lesson stick with you?
I really love drawing, thanks to great professors at College of Charleston! I learned that drawing is about taking an objective look at what is in front of you, minus all the prior judgements or conceptions you may have.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been focusing on my art career for three years now, and I still have imposter syndrome! But, yes, I am an artist. Still hard for me to say. *Shrug*
So far, my work has spanned from printmaking, pen and ink works on paper, installations, and murals. The murals have been really fun, to collaborate with businesses and create an immersive experience for their customers.
I am most excited about the current project I’m working on, which will debut at Kulture Klash 2024 in Charleston, SC.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Let’s go! Why not!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to express myself. I tend to only let the happy feelings show. When I draw, I get to physically let out the pent up emotions.
