We recently connected with Cara Carosielli and have shared our conversation below.
Cara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success, to me, goes far beyond financial gain. It’s about the people you uplift, how you feel while working, the legacy you’re leaving, and staying aligned with your values. It’s how you make others feel and the peace you carry within.
Since becoming a mother, my definition of success has shifted. It’s now about *who* I am, not *what* I have. When I look into my son’s eyes, I’m reminded that I already have everything I need. My goal is to empower him by leading with resilience and purpose.
To me, success is about doing something you’re truly passionate about—something that feels so fulfilling, it doesn’t even feel like work. Ultimately, success is finding happiness in helping others grow while creating a life you love.

Cara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Cara, the founder of Simply Bloom Social, a boutique social media agency based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. My journey into the world of social media began with a passion for building businesses and connecting with communities. I hold a Diploma in Social Media Applications and Marketing from Concordia University, which I earned in June 2022, and I strive to always stay a student, keeping up with the latest social media best practices for my clients.
In 2020, I launched a dog mom lifestyle blog, inspired by my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Henry, which quickly grew into a community of nearly 13k followers on Instagram. This experience led me to collaborate with brands like Four Seasons Montreal, Maxbone, Cavology, and Bleu Lavande as a content creator. In 2021, I was invited to speak at The Pet Summit, an online event based in New York City, where I taught a course on Instagram Reels.
Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of working with businesses of all sizes—from large companies to non-profits and personal brands—on building their online presence. I also bring a diverse entrepreneurial background into every project, from my experience as a former dance studio owner and my recent ventures as a real estate investor, to my active involvement in helping to run my family’s daycare businesses. Now, as a new mom, I’ve gained a fresh perspective on life, a newfound resilience, and a nurturing spirit that I bring into everything I do.
I’m passionate about the power of social media, with Instagram as my main platform of expertise. I love working with businesses that understand social media is just one part of a larger marketing plan. A well-rounded strategy—including a professional branding, a highly engaged community, a solid email list, a well-designed website, and strong SEO—is essential for long-term online success. When these pieces are in place, social media can truly thrive and help your business grow.
When I’m not working with clients or reading up on the latest social media trends, you can find me enjoying time with my son and my dog, exploring Montreal’s restaurant scene, or watching a movie. My simple pleasures include afternoon tea, a new journal, fresh peonies and a Starbucks iced oat shaken espresso with hazelnut!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
There are several moments that have shaped my resilience. As business owners, we constantly face challenges that, while difficult in the moment, help build character over time. One example is when I made the tough decision to close my dance studio of 10 years at the start of the pandemic. I was recovering from burnout, and the long hours were no longer sustainable for the future life I envisioned. While it was heartbreaking, it was the right decision for both my mental health and financial well-being.
More recently, my personal life took an unexpected turn, and I had to make a difficult decision for my well-being and my son’s. While it was challenging, it allowed me to gain confidence, find peace, and refocus on pursuing the goals I’ve always dreamed of.
Life will always throw curveballs—it’s important to get support, learn from the experience, and know that there’s no such thing as failing, only learning.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
So many people—especially business owners—forget the most important part of social media: being social! Interacting with content you find interesting, helpful, or entertaining not only shapes your own algorithm, giving you more of what you enjoy consuming, but it also benefits the businesses posting that content and allows you to connect with them. A post resonates with you? Share it! Want to contribute to the conversation? Leave a comment!
Some of my best friends and strongest connections were made online, through platforms like Instagram. I don’t believe in shortcuts or hacks when it comes to building something real, authentic, and sustainable. My approach is always audience-first, focusing on what would be most beneficial to them. It’s all about human connection—people will always remember how you made them feel, even online.
