Canetha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

When I embarked on my journey to establish a skincare business, I bravely left a high-paying job to start from the ground up. I also took another risk in 2020 amidst the uncertainty caused by Covid. During this time, I expanded my business with a focus on empowering women, aiming to provide them with a supportive community and the necessary tools to not only survive but truly flourish.

Canetha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am the founder of Amour Women and Amour Women Foundation. With an unwavering passion for empowering women, I’ve dedicated my life to equipping women with the necessary tools, knowledge, and access to transform their lives just as I have done.

Through my journey of self-development, I have cultivated a wealth of experience and expertise, which I generously share with others. My personal transformation from being a woman that was in an abusive marriage, divorced twice, mother of 5 children, and grew up with a learning and skin disorder, has been nothing short of remarkable, and I’m driven by a deep desire to pay it forward.

Recognizing the transformative power of knowledge and opportunity, I established Amour Women, an organization that serves as a platform for women to access vital resources, guidance, and support. Under my leadership, Amour Women has become a beacon of hope for countless women seeking personal and professional growth.

In addition to my entrepreneurial pursuits, I have also established the Amour Women Foundation, an initiative focused on providing educational opportunities and support to underserved communities of women and teen girls. Through this foundation, I strive to break down barriers and create pathways to success for those who may face systemic obstacles. I also share my advice and knowledge on two podcasts that I host/co-host, which is “The Queens of F-ing Everything and “Finding Your Superpower.”

My dedication, resilience, and unyielding spirit have made me a true champion for women’s empowerment. My unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others has garnered admiration and respect from all who have had the privilege of crossing paths with me. Amour Women and the Amour Women Foundation continue transforming lives and shaping a future filled with limitless possibilities for women everywhere.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Since the inception of Amour Women, we have constantly adapted our offerings to meet the needs of our audience. Initially focused on products, we expanded to provide services, coaching, and even launched a magazine. While these ventures were new to me, I utilized my existing skills to successfully execute them. I anticipate that pivoting will continue to be a regular occurrence in my business journey.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

For our first skincare business, my husband and I relied solely on self-funding. However, when it came to our second venture, Amour Women, we were able to partially self-fund it while also securing investors who helped us to kick-start the business.
