Well let’s get straight to it. Corporate America does a lot of great things with the skin care industry but one thing that stands out to me as a negative is the  continued issue of filling skincare products with chemicals. This is something that is absolutely not necessary. Skincare Makers (myself included) pride ourselves on the fact that we are All-natural product creators. Our ingredients are easy to pronounce, understand and the majority of the time handmade items will make your skin healthier and brighter.

Love Bug Luv is a company that focuses on All-natural aromatherapy bath and body products, with a mission to promote awareness of the importance of self-care. I previously worked as a restaurant manager, and noticed that many people in various fields were spending most of their time helping others and neglecting their own well-being. Thus, Love Bug Luv was created to provide an opportunity to indulge in self-care in your own home. I had an aromatherapy-influenced upbringing, which inspired the use of natural ingredients in everyday living. I was able to discover that specific natural ingredients, such as turmeric, activated charcoal, and essential oils, were what the skin craved. This led to the company’s focus of natural ingredients skincare products, creating clean items that help with skin allergies, eczema, and more, while also being eco-friendly and organic.

Instead of taking the easy route of white labeling, I took my background in culinary arts and decided to take a deep dive into the world of ingredients. After a year of research and learning about the properties of different oils, as well as studying books on soap making and skincare development, I began to create my own recipes. Drawing on my knowledge of herbs, essential oils, vitamins, and minerals, I infused our already natural products with additional natural additives to create a skincare line that truly nourishes the skin.

The term resilient brings to mind a need to push through the tough times and persevere towards your goals. Starting a business with limited resources and support can be daunting, but I didn’t let that stop me. Despite working a full-time job and taking care of my family, I dedicated myself to building my business. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but I kept going, knowing that my work would indeed make a difference. With the support of my loved ones, I was able to overcome the challenges and become the small business owner i has envisioned. However, this is just the beginning, I know that there is always more to learn and more to do, and I remain committed to my continuing journey.
