We recently connected with Candy P and have shared our conversation below.
Candy P, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I’m glad I started now; due to my frame of mind in my younger years, I wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure or notoriety. I may not have been so thankful.
Candy P, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, first of all, let me introduce myself. I am 69 years young performer and vocalist with over 30 years of experience. I have recently decided about a year ago to embark on a professional singing career. It’s never too late. I’ve been in and out of clubs and churches all my life, singing gospel, R&B, and a little jazz. All of my experience with different genres of music allowed me to have my own soulful, raspy, smooth sound. I have always had a great love for entertaining and am excited about what opportunity arises. I’m most grateful for the opportunity God and music have given me. I am a true believer that dreams have no expiration date. It’s always on time. My lyrics and songs are what I call relationship music. Most music is about casual relationships, and I’m not knocking that. There exists a fan base of meaningful, lasting couples. The mere fact of two people going through life together through good and evil has given me a songful library of music and lyrics. How much longer can this exist, only God says? I do this because I want couples to know life is excellent with someone wonderful; enjoy the concert of life that God has given to those who commit to going on this journey together.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I aim to create music that makes you smile when you think about those special moments and times you spent with that significant other. My wife, all the time she has shared with me, has been that driving force and showed my daughters that true love is real. It is not mythical. I aim to create or seek out a fan base that believes in my music. The strength is the love and commitment of the two
