We were lucky to catch up with Candy Fields recently and have shared our conversation below.
Candy , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea?
The Candy Show is a relaunch of The Candy Internet Radio Talk Show originated in 2008. A friend of mines started his own internet based talk shows (now called podcast) and invited myself and a couple of women, who were my business partners, to be guests on this show. He suggested we launch our own show, thus birth The Candy Internet Radio Talk Show. This ran from May 2008 to November 2009. Unfortunately, my friend became ill and because The Candy Internet Radio Talk Show was hosted through his platform, unexpectedly had to stop.
Unfortunately my previous partners and I parted ways in 2010. However, because I enjoyed being behind the microphone, getting to know people, and providing a platform for local talent, I relaunched The Candy Show in 2016 by myself. I had to learn and do everything by myself this time, because one of my previous partners was more on the admin side. I consulted with other people that I knew to help me along the way.
Candy , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a music lover. I love dancing and live music. I started my journey in the music entertainment industry as a dancer in grade school when I performed on our local public access channel. What I am most proud of is that I can help others by providing them a platform to promote themselves. The Candy Show is natural, raw, real, uncut, and unscripted.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The Candy Show has always been a mobile show; meaning I travel around in state and out of state. It was when the pandemic happened, I didn’t know how to continue or even if it would work. However, I saw that everyone else was doing it and so I tried it. The rest is history.
