We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candis White. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candis below.
Candis , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
The biggest risk I’ve taken was starting my brand without having all the answers.
I walked away from playing it safe to pursue a vision rooted in wellness, self-care, and empowerment. I didn’t have a large budget or a blueprint just a deep conviction that people needed to be reminded of their worth. Building Cozi of CT meant trusting purpose over predictability.
There were moments of doubt, slow growth, and uncertainty, but what surprised me most was how deeply people connected with the message. The risk taught me that clarity comes through movement, not waiting. What began as a personal leap of faith turned into a mission to help others walk in confidence and healing.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
am a skincare strategist, wellness advocate, and founder of Cozi of CT, a brand rooted in the belief that self-care is a form of self-respect. My work blends corrective skincare with education and empowerment to help people care for their skin with intention and confidence.
I entered the industry wanting to go beyond surface-level results. While working with clients facing concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, and sensitivity, I saw how closely skin health is tied to stress, lifestyle, and self-image. That insight shaped my approach: I don’t just perform treatments I create personalized skincare strategies that support the whole person.
Through Cozi of CT, I provide corrective treatments, customized skincare plans, and wellness-based products and experiences. What sets my brand apart is its foundation in message as much as method. “woke up worthy” is more than a phrase it guides how I serve, focusing on progress over perfection and education over trends.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand that reflects both excellence and compassion. Everything I create is intentional, designed to restore confidence, encourage self-care, and help people walk in purpose.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Yes, I manufacture my candle line, Cozi Scents, and it began during a very personal season of healing.
After the birth of my youngest son, I was navigating postpartum and spent a lot of time in prayer, asking God for peace and restoration. During that time, I felt led to make candles. I had no prior experience in candle manufacturing, but I began learning through research, experimentation, and trial and error.
What started as a personal act of healing and obedience became a creative outlet and eventually a product line rooted in intention and wellness. As the brand grew, I learned how to source quality materials and work with trusted vendors who aligned with my standards and values.
The biggest lesson manufacturing has taught me is that you don’t have to start as an expert you have to be willing to learn. Cozi Scents was born from faith, patience, and purpose, and each candle is designed to create moments of peace and reflection for others.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that I had to do everything on my own to be taken seriously.
When I first started building my brand, I thought being strong meant being self-sufficient. I tried to wear every hat creator, strategist, marketer, manufacturer, and event planner because I felt that asking for help meant I wasn’t capable enough. That mindset came from survival, not strategy.
Over time, I realized that this approach was unsustainable and rooted in fear, not faith. I became exhausted, and my growth stalled because I was too busy trying to prove I could do it all instead of allowing myself to be supported. The turning point came when I began trusting others with parts of the vision and focusing more deeply on what I do best.
Unlearning that belief taught me that strength isn’t isolation it’s alignment. It’s knowing when to lead and when to delegate. That shift allowed my business to grow with more clarity, consistency, and peace.
The backstory is simple: I was trying to build a purpose-driven brand with a survival mindset. Once I released the need to control everything, I made room for expansion, collaboration, and sustainability. That lesson continues to shape how I work today.
