Candis, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

I initially started cleaning as a franchise owner. However, I became frustrated with the amount of fees that were coming out, yet I’m doing all of the cleaning so I stopped. Fast forward, I started working a job briefly, then came upon an opportunity to start a business in the personal credit industry. My job closed as I was entering into new territory and then that left me with only one stream of income. Things were moving slow with this new venture so I had to think of something quick. I sat on my mothers porch and thought to myself while listening to JayZ and Beyonce ~ Boss, ” Girl what in the world are you gonna do”? So, myself said, “start over and start your own cleaning business, you got this”! I then started researching information on what I would need to do in order to become a legal business owner of my own company. So out of the clear blue, a girlfriend of mine called and asked what was I doing, I elaborated and she then gave me referred me to contact a few nonprofits that help assist people with starting their own business, and I did just that and have owning and operating since then.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. A wife and mother of a recent high school graduate. I wear many hats and am involved in many roles as an Entrepreneur and Business Owner. I feel that becoming an Entrepreneur was now a necessity because of all of the uncertainty with only having a job and one stream of income. I chose those two specific industries because they have a guaranteed need in order to function live life. Be able to help someone is a passion and fulfillment for me. When you are able to turn your passion into a business well…… Let’s just say it’s not viewed as work now, it’s a lifestyle, and an activity to complete the and the Lords work, in exchange for monetary compensation to provide for my family.

Now does being a business owner and entrepreneur has it’s ups and downs, moments of uncertainty, absolutely! However, how you go about handing it to move forward and keep going is what set aside you from everyone else! It takes sincere discipline, desire, dedication, a loyal tribe, and hard work to keep your brain sharp, and your gears well oiled to keep things together.

As a Credit Coach, my services offered are credit restoration, credit coaching, living wills and trust, identity protection, credit monitoring, and so much more. As a Janitorial Engineer, my company offers, residential and commercial cleaning, power washing, and janitorial cleaning services.

Being in the credit industry, gives me the pleasure to assist individuals with regaining a second chance and new leash on life to get their finances back in order. Being able to educate and provide the know how on recreating a stable foundation and navigate threw the game of credit by understanding credit, and how to leverage credit.

Being in the cleaning industry, gives me pleasure of knowing after my company has cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected someone’s home or business, they are now exposed to a safer environment. The importance of cleaning helps people engage in more activities, as well as bring down stress level and anxiety. Sometimes cleaning can impact your mental health in a negative way. Knowing we were able to be apart of impacting in a positive way, makes the world a better place to live in.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

In there year 2020, I was living with uncertainty if my businesses would sustain. People were losing jobs left and right, businesses were closing permanently, certain business industry were going through mandatory shutdown due to COVID. Some of the people who were losing jobs, and businesses were my clients which meant, my businesses were affected, which dropped my revenue. I Prayed to God and left my worries on him. God sure enough answered my Prayers, and never left me nor did he forsake me. We were able to stay the course. Now here we are today still moving and shaking.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best resource for me on obtaining new clientele has been referrals. I’ve always worked under the model of ” The best compliment a person can receive, is a referral”. Providing excellent customer service, holding a high level of integrity, and being consistent will always highlight your business and make you standout from the rest.
