Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Candice White . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Candice , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Starting a business can be scary within itself. You second-guess everything and you are constantly worrying about who will support you. In the beginning, I used to think it was very important for my friends and family to support me. I think everyone has felt this way at least once. I have friends and family who support me and I have those who support me only when they are asked. Either way, I had to stop focusing on that and focus on what I wanted for myself and trust the process because the support will come and it has.
I had to think about why I cared about my friends and family supporting me. After I sat with my feelings for a while I quickly realized having them share information about my business wasn’t a big deal. I realized none of my friends or family could get me where I needed to be. My friends and family don’t know Tyler Perry, Oprah, Nicki Minaj, Network producers, the breakfast club, Club Shay Shay, the list goes on. Realizing this lifted so much weight off of my shoulders.
After, that I decided to have fun and appreciate the friends and family who support me without being asked and they share everything. I suggest people change their focus and appreciate the support that comes because in the beginning most of my support came from strangers. I say go after the strangers because they don’t know you and that’s what you want. For me strangers have helped me grow tremendously and I love it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am very vocal and you never have to guess how I’m feeling. My mouth has talked me into trouble and it has gotten me out of trouble. I experienced some life-changing events and decided I wanted to tell my story. I found it interesting that people who don’t know you tell your business as if they do know you. I began studying the laws of attraction and improving myself as an individual. As I saw the improvements I wanted to share it with others who might be experiencing some dark times as well.
I encourage people not to give up on life or themselves no matter how chaotic things may be at the moment. I wanted to be an example that it’s never too late to dream or change your life for the better. So, I went out and started creating the life that I wanted for myself and it led me to my talk show Candi Coated Secrets.
I believe what sets me apart is I show up as my authentic self even when I’m not at my best. I take my followers with me on my journey and that makes it fun for me. I want people to know that they are not alone in this world. I’m proud that when life threw me storms God helped me turn them into rainbows. I want people to look at me and know that they too can make it. I inspire to inspire.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The best piece of advice I can give is to build a team that believes in you. When your team is filled with people who genuinely want to see you win, they will go above and beyond to push you along the way. Stay away from people with their hands out especially if you’re still building. Go towards the ones who know the money will come. Always be transparent with your team and show your appreciation for them often. It takes a village and everyone has to be trustworthy and able to communicate. Make sure your team can have those uncomfortable conversations because honesty builds the best team.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I communicate with my followers inside of my Facebook group Candi Coated Secrets. My group allows me to interact with everyone daily when I’m not busy of course. I love it because it’s an open forum for different conversations. I allow everyone to show up as themselves. I’m often told that’s why so many people love the brand that I’m building for myself. However, being consistent has helped me the most.
