Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Candice Simpson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Candice, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to make custom, high-quality clothing and gifts affordable for everyone—because special moments should be celebrated without financial barriers.
For me, this isn’t just about products—it’s about accessibility, joy, and inclusion. Every family deserves to make memories and give meaningful gifts without worrying about cost. I love hearing from customers who tell me they were finally able to afford a custom outfit for their child, a personalized blanket for a grandparent, or a unique party design that made their event unforgettable.
That’s why my mission matters—it’s personal, it’s rooted in my own experience, and it allows me to help others create moments they’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Candice Simpson—a proud wife, mother of two, and the founder of a thriving custom clothing and gift business. I have a deep passion for helping others and often share free advice with aspiring entrepreneurs on how to start their own clothing business.
My journey began in 2021, when my daughter was five years old. That year, I purchased two custom birthday outfits for her in size 4T, spending a total of $230. While I was fortunate enough to afford it, I couldn’t stop thinking about other parents who wanted to make their child’s big day special but might not be able to because of the high cost.
That experience inspired me to learn how to create affordable, high-quality custom clothing. I immersed myself in tutorials, joined paid training groups, and learned everything I could about the necessary software and equipment. Using Cricut machines, vinyl, and iron-on transfers, I began designing stylish, budget-friendly outfits and shirts.
As time went on and technology advanced, I incorporated tools like Canva Pro to create more eye-catching and trendy graphics—without ever losing sight of my commitment to affordability. My mission has always been to help families celebrate life’s special moments without breaking the bank.
Over the years, my customers began requesting items beyond clothing. Today, I proudly offer a wide range of custom products, including car decals, personalized wallets, small blankets with photos or quotes, custom puzzles, party supplies, and much more.
What sets my business apart is simple: I deliver the same quality as high-priced competitors—but at a price that’s accessible to everyone. I’m proud of that because I believe everyone deserves to enjoy custom items and thoughtful gifts without financial strain.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building genuine relationships and letting word-of-mouth do the work.
Happy customers naturally became my best promoters—sharing my work on social media, recommending me to friends, and returning for repeat orders. I also use Facebook groups, local community pages, TikTok, and Instagram to showcase my designs, post behind-the-scenes content, and engage with followers in a real, conversational way.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
One of my favorite marketing stories happened early in my business, when I decided to run a last-minute custom 4th of July promotion. At the time, my customer base was small, my budget was tiny, and I had no guarantee anyone would even be interested. Still, I had this gut feeling that if I could design something unique and affordable, people would respond.
I stayed up late for two nights straight creating a small collection of custom shirts. I took my own product photos in my living room, using nothing but natural light and my phone. I posted them in local Facebook groups with a very short turnaround time—orders had to be placed within 48 hours to guarantee delivery in two days.
The response shocked me. Within hours, my inbox was flooded. I had more orders in those two days than I’d had in the previous two months combined. My dining room turned into a mini production line, and my husband jumped in to help package and deliver orders.
It was exhausting but exhilarating. That experience taught me the power of acting quickly, trusting my instincts, and creating urgency in my marketing. I realized you don’t need a big budget to make a big impact—you just need creativity, passion, and a willingness to take a leap.
